UC Berkeley Admissions Demographics in the 1960s?

I'm writing a paper and it would help immensely to have some statistics about UC Berkeley's admissions in the 1960s (race and gender percentages). Anyone have a clue where I can hopefully find this online?

sorry, I don’t know of any sources. But if you find them, be careful in interpreting the data. I imagine that you’ll find UC was primarily male and primarily white – not dissimilar to many other colleges at that time – and primarily wealthy. Heck, most Ivies were 100% male, as was UVa. And, of course, the demographics of the state’s high school graduates have changed significantly in 40+ years.

Instead of finding it online (which may be difficult), shouldn’t you go to the library or university archives to obtain that kind of data?

*pretend old person is saying this: “When I was a kid in college, we didn’t have these fancy-smangled gizmos and doodads giving us the answer to everythin’. We had to walk uphill both ways to the library to find information. You young whippersnappers get it too easy these days”

found one source, and note back in 1960, California’s population was 82% white. Thus, make sure you check your lens when you view old numbers.

Bluebayo, I ADORE you.

And thank you Diivio, too!

UC Academic Senate reports have all kinds of great data, if one doesn’t mind sifting through them.
