UC Berkeley...am I supposed to send in my transcript?

I'm rather confused about whether I am supposed to send in my official transcript to Berkeley .____.
On the UC general page, under apply online, UC schools ask for "Transcripts... to ensure the information you enter is accurate".

University of California - Apply online

However, on the Berkeley FAQ, it says:

Q: When should I send you my official transcripts and all of my test scores?
A: Please do not send documents or other information to Berkeley unless requested. If we need more information from an applicant, we will contact you. Most students give us enough information in their applications for us to make a sound decision.

That apply online page for UCs is simply telling you that it is a good idea to have your own transcript in your hand when filling out the application, in which you list your grades. It is not telling you to send any transcripts, neither is the Berkeley page. You do not send transcripts as part of the application process for the UCs, and that applies to all UCs. You send your transcript after you graduate from high school to the UC that you will attend.

You don’t send any transcripts. Your high school sends certified ones.

Here’s the sequence of events:

Apply for admission by November 30.

Receive decision by mid March.

File SIR (Statement of Intent to Register) by May 1.

After you graduate from high school, but no later than July 15, have your high school send an official final transcript.

Your acceptance is provisional and can be revoked if you transcript shows that you lied on your application, that you did not complete required coursework, that you did not graduate, or that your senior year grades show a substantial downward trend.
