UC Berkeley and Stanford Chances

I was wondering about my chances of getting into either UC Berkeley or Stanford.
I'm white, which doesn't mean much for diversity, but I'm a girl and I want to major in Environmental Engineering.
-Unweighted/ Weighted GPA: 3.9/4.2
-ACT: 36
-PSAT: 206 (I didn't see much reason to take the SAT since my ACT was substantially better than my PSAT)
- SAT II's- Math 2 was 780, Spanish was 650, but I'm taking Bio E, Math 2, and Spanish at the October test date.
- AP's : 5 on environmental science, planning to take BC Calculus and Spanish tests next year.
- Schedule Difficulty: I've taken honors math and science every year, but was kind of stupid and took AP environmental science instead of enriched physics. But by the time I graduate I will have bio, chem, and physics covered, all honors.
-EC's
4 years varsity lacrosse, most likely captain as a senior
Human Rights Club
Very involved in church (Mentoring junior high kids, planning curriculum for junior high and high school programs, playing guitar at one service a week)
400+ hours of community service
Full time job this summer as a nanny

I think that's pretty much it. Thanks for any responses!

Course rigor might be lacking compared to others if you they only look at your non-senior classes. Usually people have done 4-5 APs by the time end of their junior year. Though if your school didn’t offer many APs, that might not hurt you.

Solid score on the ACT, hope you can get 770+ on the bio, study well, it was substantially more difficult for me than the math and chem tests, but that could just be me.

Ecs looks decent, any leadership? Awards?

For Berkeley, if you’re top 4% of your school, you’re in, but reguardless of ELC, you should be getting into Berkeley.

Stanford on the otherhand, is really hit and miss. I’ve seen kids with worse stats going in, but they usually have some hook. Gotta go for the knock out with the essays, don’t be afraid to expose yourself.

I think you have a good shot at Berkeley if you bring the SAT to 2100, but you are absolutely not automatically in if you’re top 4%. You will be guaranteed a UC for being ELC, but it’s never Berkeley.

Thanks! The only award I have besides 4.0 awards is that I was an All Conference lacrosse player last season.

Your ACT is very good. I would aim for 2200ish on the SAT I, 800 on Math 2 C, and 770ish in bio. All science classes at the “honors” level doesn’t exactly classify a rigorous course-load, but it does give you a broad spectrum of knowledge. If your school just doesn’t offer that many APs, then it’s forgivable, but EC/course rigor seem closer to UCB (decently-high match) while Stanford would be a low to moderate reach.

Chance me:
