I wrote an appeal as a transfer, our results come out later than freshmen, right? gosh I am so nervous…
i anticipate transfers get results after transfer SIR (which is June 1st) and since appeals are last priority we won’t find out until after that data??
Last year, appeals results generally didn’t come in until around the 22nd of May. I think there were 1 or 2 who got results earlier, and some later, so hang tight. Of course, this is just the CC community and those people who decided to post after getting their result, so who knows how indicative that is.
@skyoverme So far a few posted that they got accepted last Friday (May 15th) for this year. And I looked at the last year thread and only saw people that got accepted on the 22nd? So would that mean there was only one wave for last year and possibly this year too? 
Or maybe I missed someone’s acceptance before/after the 22nd on the 2014 thread?
@californiakid1 I think there are far too many variables to really draw any conclusions. I was just pointing out when most acceptances came out for appeals last year.
This year, it could be different, or it could be the same.
The “waves” could be based on:
- departments
- budget issues this year and trying to negotiate with the State for funding
- the sample of people who post on CC
- the yield rate of the admits and the people who cleared the waitlist.
- how compelling particular appeals are (“forgot to mention in my app that I cured cancer and negotiated a peace accord in a small African nation”) this year vs. last vs. the people on the waitlist.
The current appeal admits have until this Thursday to SIR. It’s likely that the next wave comes out this Friday.
@paul15 Did you get admitted into the Fall Term or Spring Term? As in, are you joining this year in August or next year in January? And congrats.

I just called the admissions office.
The appeals will be notified by 6/1.
Notification will be via email.
The person did not know if people would get notified before then.
Said they were very busy.

@theworld123 I appealed because my grades drastically improved senior year from my junior/sophomore grades while having the hardest class schedule, more course work in addition to playing varsity sports both terms.

I was admitted to UC Berkeley last Thursday through appeals and my major is applied mathematics.
Unweighted GPA: 3.714 Weighted: 4.2
SAT II Bio E, Chem, Physics, Math II: all 800s
12 APs mostly 5s
ACT: 35
Reason for Appeal: Placing at multiple programming competitions. Did not mention senior year grades.

I did not receive an email saying my application status was updated so you would need to check the page yourself often. I was given a week from last Thursday to SIR so the next wave might come out this Friday. What the appeal status box said was:
“Your Appeal Status
We have re-evaluated your application, and we are pleased to offer you admission for the fall term! Please complete the online Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) in the Next Steps box below by the deadline to ensure a space at Berkeley. If you plan to live on campus and have not already submitted your housing application, we recommend you apply for housing as soon as possible.”

Has any transfer appeals been released yet?
ADMITTED!!! Checked the application site yesterday and there was a message that my application was not available and to call a number. I called but office was closed. I checked application today at around 4 pm and it read: CONGRATULATIONS!! You have been admitted…

how about transfer appeal updates
I checked Ms. Sun’s blog, and someone asked “Hi, I heard that some people have already gotten into Berkeley on an appeal. I still haven’t heard anything. Does Berkeley give undergrad appeal decisions in waves? Or should I assume that I was not accepted?” Ms. Sun responded, “I only heard of one (maybe two, I’m not sure if these are duplicated) case so far. I think Berkeley makes decisions as they review the appeals.”
And @phatbrat it seems like they always let transfer students know after freshmen
