UC Berkeley Asking for Transcripts

So Berkeley sent me an email asking me to send in my unofficial CCC transcripts. It seems like they're just verifying all the information that I've already listed on my application and transfer update. Is this good or bad?

It is normal for a school to ask for transcripts. I’m not sure why Berkeley is asking for an unofficial transcript, though. They usually want official ones. Oh well, I guess print one out, and mail it in…

Hey, if everything you put on the app matches the transcript, you got nothing to be afraid of. I think that’s great news and I think you should know why :D

Athena4673 when did you turn.in your uc application and when did berkeley ask you for an unofficial transcript?

A month ago (maybe two months ago) Cal asked me what I was doing during my educational gap, replied immediately with my resume and they said thank you.

hesdjjim: The only time I’ve heard schools asking for transcripts is AFTER you’ve been accepted and they’re official as well.

xcaliberse: Haha. Thanks! I hope so.

Pinoiako916: I sent in my application by the end of November deadline last year. And Berkeley asked for an unofficial transcript beginning of March and I sent them in a few days later.

What are your stats athena4673?

3.667 GPA. Poli Sci Major. Major Pre Reqs done by last fall and have completed a few more classes than the minimum–3 A’s, 1 B, and 1 IP. IGETC by the end of this spring semester.

so far, Berkeley did not send me an email in regards to sending unofficial transcripts.

I am a psychology major with a 3.84 gpa, pre-reqs will be done by spring 11’. Only one pre-req in progress.

eyethink: Did you get a thank you email as well or just the screen saying “thank you” following submitting the information?

Pinoiako916: Yeah, I don’t think it’s that common for any applicant, regardless of their stats. Just seems like they’re verifying info they already have so as to not possibly offer admission to someone who actually has lower stats? Don’t know…

what other UC’s did you apply for athena 4673?

UCSC, UCLA, UCSD.

I already got into Santa Cruz. Not getting my hopes up too high though about UCLA considering how Poli Sci is impacted and my GPA is slightly below the Poli Sci GPA average for Fall 2010 admits. I did mention though in my application that my grades were impacted by personal reasons, so maybe holistic admissions will help me out.

Where did you apply besides Cal? Your stats seem great! Is Psychology impacted as well?

I applied to UCLA, Berkeley and UC Davis (Human development).

Psychology is impacted in UCLA as well however, my gpa is higher than the fall 2010 admits for psych for UCLA which was a 3.78.

Fall 2007 - 3.50
