go to the rec center website it’ll tell you all you need to know. there’s basically one big one “hearst gym” where, for $10 a semester, you can become a member and take classes, swim, play sports or do the treadmill all you want. it’s awesome! here’s the link
[UC Berkeley Recreational Sports.](http://recsports.berkeley.edu/index.aspx)

lol Hearst?
i think you mean the RSF

there’s also a small fitness center in the units (not sure about others) for people too lazy to walk over to RSF or are a bit far away.

RSF has all the equipments and facilities you can ask for. Jogging all the way to RSF should be a good warm-up. Hearst Gym is usually used for swimming.

that sounds sick! is it crowded tho?

n if anyones been to a UCLA gym, how does it compare to berkeley’s?

bump 10&W

I’ve been using the gym and its really nice, but I’m wondering how crowded will it get once school starts? I mean I would hate to wait in line to use the benches and stuff like that.
Is it ever crowded that it disrupts your workout? and if yes, what time of the day is most crowded and least crowded?

UCLA gym >>>> RSF

But that’s because UCLA’s gym is awesome; RSF is a good gym though, except when it’s crowded.

I agree that UCLA Gym > RSF. The UCLA Gym is bigger and a little nicer, but RSF still has everything you need. You won’t be disappointed. Personally I just don’t like the layout of RSF, as compared to UCLA’s. But again, RSF is not bad at all. And come on, for $10/semester you can’t ask for more!

It is pretty crowded at certain times, for example in the early evening. However, if you go very early in the morning, or very late at night for example, you shouldn’t have a problem.

I wouldn’t have said that UCLA’s is just “a little” nicer, but again, that’s not because the Cal gym is bad. It’s because UCLA’s is obnoxiously good.

Crowding’s mostly about 5-7pm. After 8pm, there’s plenty of people, but by 9 you shouldn’t have to wait for anything.
