UC Berkeley & Biochemistry?

<p>I'm leaning towards majoring in biochemistry. I know UCSD and UCLA offer majors in biochemistry. I just checked the Berkeley website and it does not seem that they have Biochemistry on their list. Am I correct in saying that Berkeley does not offer biochemistry as a major?</p>

<p>Also, what are typical majors that people choose, that help them succeed in choosing a medical school and succeeding later on?</p>

<p>IIRC, Biochemistry is a subset of their Molecular and Cell Biology major.
Not sure though, it's been a while since I last checked.</p>

<p>Yeah, biochem is a subset of something. I've got a couple of friends planning on majoring in it at Berkeley next year, so I know it's possible.</p>
