I'm having trouble deciding between the two schools. I'm applied as an economics major for both but if i'm going to Cal, I'm going to try to get into Haas school of business.

Both schools appeal to me significantly but for different reason. From you guys' experiences, what would you guys recommend?

Since you're looking at business, Cal.

well, in terms of getting into a better mba program in the future, which one do you guys think is better?

where you go to school for undergrad won't significantly make a difference in your mba application, esp. when comparing btwn 2 good schools. mba is largely based on your personal qualifications, such as work experience, leadership, gmat, etc. Go where tuition is more affordable and where you like better.

thnx for the advice! what do you think about cornell since you attend there right now

I like it here a lot. Part of the reason I have enjoyed my stay here so much is bc I met some great people here. It is a pretty big school, yet extremely social, so that I get to go play basketball w/ bunch of guys on the floor, watch college hoops, go out to parties on weekends, play ps3/wii, and so many options. People here are outgoing and laid back, which I like very much. Honestly, after doing my hws and ecs, I get to enjoy my free time so much and I would not wanna be at any other place than here.

My advice, therefore, is that you should find the school where you will be happy at. Being happy will assist you in performing well academically as well as enjoying your social life.

Apparently you aren't "toxic waste" as a student ;-) My first advice is always, go with the less amount of debt. All things being equal, I would actually choose Cal if you want the big university experience. But Cal is sink or swim. No one is going to coddle you. If you think that is the type of place for you then Cal is the choice here. That would be my personal choice. BTW I love Cornell!

I'd say cal, but of course I have a bias as I'm going there next year.

Seriously though, I agree with the other posters about going to the cheaper school. They are both excellent institutions and if you work hard, you'll get a fine job with a degree from either one.

If you live in CA, go to Berkeley. Otherwise, go to Cornell.

Realize that a BS Business Administration degree from Haas is essentially an MBA. You'll learn the same stuff - again.
