UC Berkeley Class of 2021 Appeal Thread

you’re*

Just called admissions and they said that more acceptances will be sent out till June 1

@md9877 according to admissions looks like I was right

@fansari18 did you ask them about appeal acceptances or just acceptances in general (waitlist included)?

The hope lives on!!

@amoghden I also called admissions and they said they just started reviewing the appeals. So more acceptances will come out.

I called them and I got a super vague response of “if you haven’t heard yet, then the process hasn’t finished and you’ll hear later”. Honestly I’m not super optimistic about this whole thing. Just because not all decisions have come out, doesn’t more people will get accepted. Last year, no one was admitted after the first wave of acceptances and we have no reason to believe it’ll be different this year

@pleasgod If the process hasn’t finished then that means they can’t have all rejections. If the process had finished there would be no more space for acceptances. Since the process hasn’t finished, there is space for acceptances. If they can’t have all rejections they must have some acceptances. Also someone here called and admissions told them that acceptance will be sent out until June 1. I also called and they said they just started reviewing the appeals and that you’ll receive a response later. If they just started reviewing then all the acceptances can’t have been given out because they haven’t reviewed a bunch of candidates. If they are not finished reviewing, then there has to be acceptances left, otherwise they would know the decision of everyone and post them. Since they haven’t posted all the decisions yet, the remaining can’t all be rejections, and therefore there must be acceptances. Given the fact that admissions specifically told someone that more acceptances will come out until June 1, it’s safe to assume there are more acceptances despite how many few acceptances there may be. And even though people on here didn’t get admitted after the first wave of acceptances, only 3-4 people said they got in. This thread is only a small percent of all those who appealed. So it’s likely others got in after the initial wave but weren’t on this site to post it.

@Kashdog As much as I hope you’re right, the odds aren’t in our favor. We’ll find out soon though

what did u guys write about @pleasgod @Kashdog

@hiyahiya123 Recent accomplishments, how family members went there, it’s my dream school and how I would contribute to campus. What about you?

@pleasgod well admissions did specifically state that there are more acceptances. So there’s no need to hope that I am right because admissions says I am right. Don’t know what you mean by the odds are not in our favor. If you’re referring to the odds of more acceptances then the odds are in our favor as admissions said there were more. Although it is true that it is less likely to get an acceptance as there are fewer to be given out

@pleasgod I wrote about similar topics.

Anyone who appealed and can see download pdf when you click the last update they put on MAP berkeley? I have it and I think it signals a rejection :frowning:

@Poseidon101 I think you are mistaken. The download pdf only gives you a pdf of your initial decision. This does not mean the appeal was rejection. Most of the appeals are still pending and have not been reviewed for a decision yet. This means that your appeal has not been rejected or been accepted. It is still pending. No reason to worry.

To all who are wondering if there are more acceptances still, Admissions has stated that more acceptance will come until June 1, They just started reviewing the appeals so most of the appeals do not even have a decision yet.

@fansari18 What was the exact message admissions told you. Did they directly tell you more acceptances would be sent out until June 1?

@Kashdog yeah I made sure to ask if more acceptances for freshman appeals are still coming out and the person said yes, until June 1

do they release them day by day? @Kashdog @fansari18

Hey all !

Has anyone received an update on their portal/decision recently? From the talks above I can assume the appeal decisions are on a rolling basis (sorta)?

Hey All! I was also accepted off appeal on the 17th, bit late to post but just wanted to give another data point. Good luck to everyone still waiting!
