Hey guys, I haven’t seen a class of 2022 applicants thread, so I figured I’d start one and get the discussion going. How are everyone’s essays and applications going? I know I still have to finish mine.
turned mine in today
I turned in my app about a week ago. I am not sure how to feel at Berkeley.
If you lived in California less than 3 years but will graduate from a California high school, are you still eligible for in-state tuition? The website says one year but the UC app says 3 years. I’m so confused
Received my confirmation email today that Berkeley has my application! Let the long painful wait to April 27, begin.
I thought that decision day was March 29
International here! Turned mine in today!
What other schools are you guys applying to?
Freshman students is the end of March , for transfer student we have to wait until the end of April

Excited and nervous, Their are so many amazing students and so few spots. Good Luck all!
I turned my UC applications on the 2nd of November.
I feel like everything comes down to personal insights (essays), that is a take all or nothing.
@plgills I attended the UCB summer experience workshop as well. Would our apps get a second reading because of it?
o I submitted my SAT scores to UCs a couple days before the deadline, but because I wasn’t aware of UCs requirement to send all scores at that time, I only picked some of my scores to send. When I found out about the policy the day after the deadline, I immediately sent all of my scores. Will this negatively affect my application? Also, because I wasn’t aware of that policy prior to submitting my app, I did not include my entire testing history in the self reporting part of the application. Will I be penalized for that?
Another concern is the fact that UC Berkeley will ultimately be seeing all my bad SAT 2 scores. I have a 600 score on History which would be bad for any college to see. I took Math and Physics and got 750+ on both, but that was only because they were retakes. My first time taking those I only got a 700+. How will this affect me as an engineering applicant?
Thanks.
@lenasharb do all applicants have to send their entire Subject test score report or just those applying to the engineering school?
Since SAT subject tests are only recommended, you can select which subject tests to send. For the SAT I or ACT tests, you need to submit all.
I submitted my app on 30th November and I just realized that in the scholarship section I accidentally said that I was a first gen college student when I am not. Should I contact the UC application and see if I can change that? I don’t know what to do. Please help.
@Gumbymom thanks so much! @mofro1 I think you can log into your account and make changes, if not you should call or email them.
@lenasharb you can go into your UC app and modify the testing info even after you submit. I’m not sure how long that part of the app remains accessible but it is editable as of now.
Did anybody get an email from UCB asking for letters of rec.?
@antwaine did you get an email asking for one?
