UC Berkeley - Class of 2022 Applicants Thread

I am an international student too applying neurobiology and I didnt get LOR request…? Should I be worried that I didn’t? I applied 11/2…

I think as @manner199 said, no LOR request means either you are definitely good enough or definitely not.

do you have stats that above the international student profile average? If so don’t worry… @BrKmNk

@crazysanta666 Nope.

For the betterment of all,
This is the admitted student statistics for International Undergraduate students.

@Nealthakker I suggest creating a thread for international applicants. :slight_smile:

@crazysanta666 EC verification email? What do they ask in that? Like to get someone to sign that you actually did that?

@crazysanta666 is the EC verification request also in the application portal? I don’t see an email though

@coolguy985 the EC verification email comes in through your email inbox and it comes from the UC application center, not the individual school.

yea and they essentially wanna prove you actually did your EC.

@crazysanta666 Interesting… they only ask 10% of applicants right? Also, I heard that they just want to factcheck applicants who have extraordinary EC’s (like 1500+ EMT hours etc.).

I think I am just extremely unlucky.

I’ve posted this before, but I guess no one saw. @Nealthakker @YoungOne4. I think I see what’s going on with LORs this year. This year, the number of LORs is limited to 15%, not 30% like last year, so those that received a request in early december/just after submitting application are the only ones that are ever going to get the request. The system of a human reading your application and then requesting a recommendation just isn’t happening this year. The only way you will be getting a request is if a computer thinks your stats are borderline. All the requests have already gone out. Does anyone have any contradictory evidence, such as a request coming after December 5th or so?

@crazysanta666 was the email sender name “UC Application Center”?

@coolguy985 yes.

A question that comes up time and time again on the UC Berkeley threads is whether one has to send in all SAT / ACT test results, or just the highest test score from a single sitting. The UC testing requirement website makes it sound like applicants have to submit them all, but the following source indicates otherwise:

https://■■■■■■■■■■■■/home/uc-test-score-submission-requirements-deadline/#comments

(Refer specifically to the comment posted by Ms. Sun on 11-13-2017 in response to the question from ‘Alex Chun.’

Is “Ask Ms. Sun” generally regarded as a reliable UC Admissions blog? Personally I’d prefer to submit just the highest single test score if UC doesn’t penalize applicants for doing so?

@Ccada3300 you have a good shot but MET is competitive

Thanks!
Yeah MET is extremely competitive!
I hadn’t received any request for LOR’s from UC, so I was a bit worried.
Hope Everyone gets in! :slight_smile:

Has anyone gotten a LOR Request recently?
