wait for those of you that got the email, did you just indicate needing aid on the application or did you fill out extra forms? i did the “scholarship” section on the app and sent my fafsa but didnt get an email
@visigoth I wouldn’t assume that! I honestly think these emails were an accident bc we can’t access anything, and not everyone got one. the admissions decisions will be out on the 29th, so just sit tight!
They should release decisions for all since some were notified. My son would likely not have qualified for financial aid, not fair to have to wait now… I tweeted @caladmissions
Congrats to all who got the email! I hope we were all actually admitted!
@highschoolstudent52900 For sure they are not.
@cluker00 thank you
So I got the email am I admitted?
@highschoolstudent52900 I don’t think so
Everyone try to relax. It was an accidental leak, they didn’t release everyone, it appears to be a small batch. UCD AND UCSB apparently had a similar situation, they had a small leak as well. Why this happens who knows. But they didn’t leak everyone so there’s still a chance. We will all have to wait until 3/29. Blast their Instagram and twitter to see if they respond. Unfortunately this happened on a Sunday so it leaves everyone in the dark. My kids got the email
And they refuse to believe it they are stressed too. This isn’t an indication that you didn’t get in.
but didn’t people say the email says they are admitted?
We did not receive the 3am email. D is in-state, applied financial aid, last UCB email received 2/26 regarding FPF. Son is 2nd year at UCB now, and I am an alumna. Hopefully this doesn’t mean she didn’t get admitted. Although if it does, there’s hope for waitlist option.
The email says,
“Congratulations on your admission to the University of California, Berkeley!
You are encouraged to review your 2018-19 conditional offer of financial aid on CalCentral. Every student receiving financial aid at UC Berkeley has a CalCentral account, which can be accessed via MAP@Berkeley or by using your CalNet ID.”
So this does mean you’ve been accepted, just been a leak.
@mmstanfordbound @Rohael so you guys are saying even if you got the email it doesn’t mean you are in?
@Yaboical @mmstanfordbound @Rohael If you got an email stating that you’ve been accepted then its clear to say that you’ve been admitted.
I think for those who received it, it means they’ve been accepted. I offer congratulations to those kids!
The question is whether the lack of receipt means rejection, waitlist, or acceptance without financial aid. Let’s just all wait and see.
if the leaked email even has the applicant’s name on it, then admitted for sure
Also, are those emails still rolling in? Or is it the consensus they went out in one blast?
Is it possible for one to not get a financial aid email?
I received an email from berkeley, should I be happy? This is very awkward situation right now. Like should I go and celebrate with my family? Hope its not a cruel joke.
Also, I saw you guys syaing ucd also has some leaks or something, i think ucd released decisions way back before 15th of this month. What exactly is happening for ucd?
@Muggenie you’ve been accepted. As long as the email is xxxxxxx@berkeley.edu and your named is stated in the beginning of the email
