@JigglyPuffs123 does this apply to international student as well ? Is 2013 and before OOS only or OOS and international ?
Yeah i’m 99% sure the people who got that email are in. It’s a program for urm / low income / first gen students so it’s like an admissions reversal.
Scratch what I said before, Berk admissions tweeted out a response to this and apparently it was sent out to rejected applicants as well.
My son was waitlisted on Thursday and submitted his opt-in today. Tonight he got an email inviting him to a lunch this weekend on campus as an admitted EOP Berkeley student. Huh? So confused! Did anybody else get this?
anyone know when the first wave of acceptances comes out?
I did not have a very pleasant first semester of my senior year. Should I submit my grades anyway or should I just do the essay? Will a C in a non-relevant class ruin my application?

@knowledgeispower18 um getting an eop is different from getting admitted. Also Berkeley is known to send out emails to wrong groups lol
@Desiree2 yeah the accidental emails seems to be a thing this year. It was just super confusing because it talks about “celebrating your admission to Berkeley” and Congrats Golden Bear
Are any wait listed applicants going to the EOP thing? It says you need to enter your student ID to sign up…
@DuckOnQuack Yeah uh I think you have to submit your grades. You may have done goofed…
@Me2000 Actually, I read that grades were, apparently, optional
If I mark that I want to be considered for Fall Program for Freshmen and I dont get in, would I still get accepted into the regular class of 2022?
Btw if anyones wondering, I found the waitlisted statistics for 2016-2017:
Number of qualified applicants offered a place on waiting list: 7,977
Number accepting a place on the waiting list: 3,971
Number of wait-listed students admitted: 2,136
I wish they released EECS waitlist stats. I know it’s gonna be really low cause most of the admits are to L & S undecided :C
Hello waitlisted students! I am a current member of the class of 2021 at UC Berkeley. Congratulations for even being waitlisted because getting this far is a trendemous accomplishment. I was a former waitlistee, just as nervous and anxious about decisions as you guys were! Unfortunately there was no one on the CC thread in our predicament last year for this is a new process at Berkeley. I am going to explain how most cases worked last year so you guys can get an overall view of what to expect. We were all placed on the waitlist around the end of March. The first and only wave I am familiar with for instate students occurred May 5th at around 3:30pm pst. Around 50% of people got off the waitlist. Financial aid is & WILL BE issued to people who are on the waitlist for I have a full ride, you will not find out until you get into Berkeley what your FA covers. I only know one person who was not taken off the waitlist and his GPA was probably the reason. Waitlist acceptances does depend on who SIR’s to Berkeley in the fall, but for the most part they will still have room for MANY of you. My SAT score was very low but my GPA & extra curriculars were great. Last year before getting into Berkeley many of us received letters of recommendation request to submit in February. The people who were on the waitlist and received this letter typically got in, BUT there were a lot of really talented and smart kids who did not receive this letter and also got in from the waitlist( I don’t know if it worked the same for you guys this year). In the meantime, DO NOT compare yourself to anyone and try to figure out their likelihood of getting into Berkeley. So many different people got in from the waitlist last year that it is unpredictable. Set yourself apart, show your individuality and interest in your waitlist statement. If you feel like you are MORE than grades show that! Berkeley thrives on a diverse cohort of students because in the end everyone coming here is typically the top students in their high school. Good luck! Follow me on IG @micheal.peck I will respond to any DMs and questions you guys may have about this process! Breath, relax, & focus on things you like in this next month because this college transition will be something VERY NEW & in a couple months being waitlisted to Berkeley will not matter anymore once you all figure out where you will be going in the fall. I know it sounds hard to believe but after next month none of this will matter much anymore, you’ll SIR to a college and fall in Love there! Go Bears! Best of luck
How many on this page on the wait list got LORs after applying? Thanks for sharing your experience @michaelpeck what are you majoring in and has the rigor been doable?
Did everybody who got waitlisted have the option of choosing either FPF or GLobal Edge London??
I was wondering if only a few people got it…
I think its everyone who applied for L&S
Is it harder to get off the wait list out of state?
