So did anyone get a notification yet?

nope

usually by this time in the past few years, the first wave was released, but this year it seems very quiet. I’ve seen people get off the wl by. May 7th,8th,9th. hopefully, we will be hearing back soon!

This year there are even few people discussing it… It’s weird.

do you mean this year?

nope, last few years.

That’s what I thought too. I’ve been searching up “Berkeley waitlist” everywhere and so far the threads I’ve come across are either from the previous years (which were very active) or a few from this year which are pretty quiet/less active. maybe there are fewer waitlisted students this year? idk honestly.

I did exactly the same thing as you and came up with the conclusion :joy:

Any glitches happened?

Nope

Is it possible that they no longer have space available?

No, there’s people in my school who’ve denied berkeley!

But they still may have over accepted and anticipated a lower yield rate…

People decline decisions doesn’t mean a spot will open up. They accepted enough people that they think it will fill up the class even people decline acceptance.

Berkeley generally makes 2x the offers as spots because their yield tends to hover around the 50% mark. They will go to the WL only if their yield falls below expectations.

how does that account for the high WL acceptance rate in the years before 2020?

I think their yield is actually closer to 40%, but yea.
