Upper div science is no joke. Everyone is premed, and they’re all trying to ensure they’re top of the class. That means, no study groups, or general help from fellow students.

I pay it right back though, I’ll purposely ask stupid question I already know the answer to, in order to ensure no one else can get theirs answered. Not to mention I’ll purposely give them wrong answers when I am asked a question. If I’m feeling nice, I’ll say I don’t know. Even if I really do :D

Hey chibi, you might want to reconsider the summer courses. They’ll factor those into your provisional acceptance. So if you bomb those, it may end up costing you an acceptance.

Good luck to all you UCB hopefuls, I already got into my dream school and I wish nothing more than you getting into yours. I’ll be crossing my fingers!

stats? I took my only math requirement @ Cal…it was a program made for Berkeley City College students, but they let me do it…so yeah don’t know…never took a math course @ Foothill…although the campus is just absolutely beautiful…use ratemyprofessors :P

the thing is i suck at math (i know, crazy huh since im asian and all) and if i take it at UCLA, i AM not going to pass it at all. so i was planning on taking it at a CC just to get it done with. im sure i can get at least a C or higher…

I thought a math course was required to be finished by Spring? oO… Stats is very easy… at least I thought so ^___^ I mean there is not difficulty in it, but little knowledge from Alg.

Just a Reminder: Today is Thursday, Berkeley decisions will be out after a few hours. According to last two years, they will release decisions around 1pm. Everyone please check the office website at that time.

Depends. Premed is still pretty tough at Davis. As are the science courses. I hear they do some odd “non-classical” way of teaching physics. Honestly, UCSD is the place to be if you’re any kind of BIO major. We’re ranked with Caltech and the Ivy league. In the UC system, no one does it better than us.

Chibi, take them during the summer, AFTER you’ve had a few quarters at UC. They’ll let you transfer them no prob. Well, they do at UCSD anyways.

lol the problem is what am i going to do at UCLA for an entire year? i have to take 3 more prereqs (stats is included) and then it’s all upper division from there.

UCB, i took precal 2 summers ago right after flunking it in high school during junior year. i think i got pretty lucky in getting an A in that class. i didnt learn anything and i suck at algebra 2.

@ ilivefree… being a 6 year resident of LA, having been around, trust me when i say that LA has the most eclectic mix of women (dare i say) in the country.

@ chibi… though i pulled a B’s in algebra – probably could have gotten an A if i studied a few days in advance for tests rather than pulling an all-nighter for each one – i hated it! i never really grasped the concepts fully… rather just memorized formulas in a way that would allow me to regurgitate them the following day and then proceed to immediately forget them…

Stats was WAAAAAAYYYYYYY easier… which was strange, considering that all of my friends who generally take really well to math say that stats gave them the most trouble…

I agree with pinker on both points…the women in LA is something u dont see in many places. Whatever ethnicity, body type, eye color you like there is plenty of it to go around

and stats is muchh easier than algebra. Depends on the person, obviously
