How about you sell your BMW?

Guys, don’t worry about being accepted as a Spring admit. Lots of people at Cal take an extra semester to graduate anyway so it’s not all that uncommon to finish your career here in the fall. (You might take an extra semester too, which would have you graduating in the spring). Don’t count out a school because you’re in such a big hurry to graduate. You’re going to live a long time and a small delay won’t really mean much in the long run. If you have your heart set on coming to Cal, then wait the semester… If not, then go on to another school in the Fall – there really isn’t that much to agonize over… (Note: this is coming from someone who chose to wait himself).

Also: UCLA is an amazing school, so a decision to go there in the Fall would not mean that you are settling in any way.

Weird… the system messed my post up (inserting my final line in the beginning as well as keeping it at the end)… ***?

So I am a spring admit for 2010 but am facing a tough decision for the upcoming summer and fall. What are some people doing while waiting for spring? I am a SDSU/CCC dual enrolled student with all my econ pre-reqs out of the way so there are no classes I can take at a CCC. I am going to take linear algebra and differential equations over the summer just for further major knowledge and not going insane since I work from home. Does anyone know if the department would let me get a few classes out of the way at SDSU in the fall. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks in advance

I’m pretty sure you won’t be allowed to do it. You should contact the college for confirmation though. I seem to remember being told that I was NOT authorized to take upper-division classes of any kind without the university’s approval (which I was informed would most likely not be granted).

Yeah I pretty much figured since people apply to Cal to learn Economics taught at Cal, they wouldn’t be supportive about taking those upper-divisions at another school. I am gonna check about some other units though such as foreign language and other electives. Maybe it all depends on what classes you ask to take and if they have no relevance to your major. I will ask politely.

Curious if the people accepted into Spring 2010 econ were missing pre-reqs or didn’t finish them up until Spring 2009. Econ Spring admits care to answer.

Econ major, spring admit lol
finished all pre-reqs etc etc
only a 3.62 GPA haha very surprised i was admitted

Did you complete you pre-reqs in fall 2008 or spring 2009?

finished all by spring 09
admitted for spring 10

Just take classes at a CC in Fall

I am, however, I will not be able to take one pre-req until Spring. Thats why I was curious to see if not finishing pre-reqs until Spring was a common characteristic among admits whose enrollment was deferred until Spring this past year.
