Hello,
I was wondering if there would be any issues if I take Writing 1 at Irvine valley college and ENG2 at Saddleback college to fulfill my English requirement?
This is what I found on Assist:
"If a series of courses at a community college is required (e.g., English 1A + 1B
- 103 = English R1A and R1B), all the courses in the series must be completed,
and must (unless otherwise indicated) be completed at the same community
college. Partial completion (e.g., 2 of the 3 required courses) will result in
zero credit toward the requirement(s), and the applicant will NOT be considered
for admission. "

Why complicate things? Just take at same community college.
But note that the ASSIST pages for both IVC and Saddleback to UCB EECS list one-to-one articulations for UCB ENGLISH R1A (IVC WR 1 or 1H, or Saddleback ENG 1A or 1AH) and ENGLISH R1B (IVC WR 2 or 2H, or Saddleback ENG 1B), rather than series-to-series articulations.
An example of where a series is required is for UCB MATH 54, where both IVC MATH 24 (or 24H) and 26 are needed to cover it.
You may want to verify on https://apply.berkeley.edu/register/transfer_guides because ASSIST is being redesigned, so updates will be found on the campus web sites.
Series means when connected, such as English R1A = Engl 100+ 102.
If they are each in its own line (meaning the R1A and R1B matches) you can split among CCCs.
