So I know that UCSD admits people that apply into engineering as undeclared status if they are strong candidates that are not deemed as quite strong enough for engineering and I know that UCLA does not. I was wondering which of these approaches UC Berkeley goes by.
I would ask in the UC Berkely forum. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-berkeley/
Moving.
I believe it’s either admit or deny. I don’t think they would put you in an alternate major.
http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/counselors/files/freshman-admission-matrix.pdf says that “Berkeley does not consider an alternate major.”
