Yes, it’s normal and random. Doesn’t mean anything negative.
Hi @AMETHYST1399 your experience sounds so similar to my own!
Just dropping in as a transfer about to wrap up her first year at Cal. It’s been awesome. Good luck to you all’
@Josepd590 I got the email on Wednesday from the Davis admissions
@flaminhaute lol how did you deal with that experience? honestly i feel like my gpa is the only aspect that makes me feel as though i won’t be able to get in.
@toronto99 don’t worry i got the email as well and it doesn’t mean anything
Hi folks! Is there anyone familiar with the transfer policy at Berkeley? Can a student do double major or minor after transfer? I’m currently majoring in Statistics but I really want to have a minor/double major in CS… Thanks in advance!
hi, fall 18 transfer here (who spent way too much time on this site, lol) you’re all doing great! don’t freak out, keep yourself busy, try to enjoy this process i mentor intended transfer students thru a program at Berk, so if any of you need help or advice lemme know
@Emmanuel7 yes, you can double major and/or minor after transfer! you would just declare that thru the department after acceptance and after completing all prereqs by the end of your first semester at cal
Yes, after you get there you can apply for a second major and/or start a minor. Re majoring in CS, though, not sure. Not every major is open for entry after transfer. Others might know.
got accepted last year…took 1 year off for health reasons.

Hello Everyone! I was wondering, UC Berkeley and Davis sent me an email asking for additional documents, but SD and UCLA did not even ask me anything or send me an email lol. If they sent you an email like this:
“We are in the process of reviewing your application. Before we can complete our review and reach an
admission decision, we need the following information from you:
Please upload a copy of your international records”
What would this imply? are they interested in you? if the other UC’s did not ask you for anything, would that mean they’re not interested? I am not sure if we all have the same feeling right now, but waiting for college decisions gives you a lot of anxiety LOL.
@Ljforyou How did you know it was Berkeley asking for additional?
@Joseph590 At the end of the email it says, “Sincerely, UC Berkeley”
@Ljforyou Ah Mine only says “Sincerely, University of California”
@futjewlaw @Ohm888 Wow! Thank you very much for answering my question! I had my Stat pre reqs done but I don’t have enough for CS… So to your knowledge, does that mean it’s not possible for me to have a double major/ minor in CS? Thank you!
@Ljforyou who is the sender ie the email address? Make sure it’s not a phishing email. Unless you were paraphrasing, the wording sounds a bit suspicious.
@Ljforyou @Joseph590 I got the same email but it was from the “University of California” and at the end it lists that all the UC schools may see the info I sent them. I tried calling UCI and the UC headquarters and they can’t provide me a clear answer but when I called UCLA they told me exactly what to do so I assume it was UCLA that initiated the request.
Btw, are your international transcript ALL in english?
@Emmanuel7 you have one semester at Berkeley and two quarters at the quarter system UCs to complete the pre-reqs. This might have changed but that’s how it was when I went. Again, I’m not sure if you can add CS after transfer. Some majors are blocked. You need to check with each UC.
@andreezybones yes they are all in English. @ProfessorPlum168 I looked at it again and called UC Berkeley it was them who sent it.
Hello all, I have a question regarding switching majors, getting a double major, or minor. I am a computer science major with a 3.80 GPA in a California CC. I am almost sure that if I applied to Berkeley and UCLA for CS I would get rejected, so I opted to apply for applied mathematics to both Berkeley and UCLA. I have an approved TAG with UC Davis and am being considered for the regents scholarship there. Ultimately, I want to be a software developer so majoring in computer science is optimal. In the slim chance however, that I do get accepted to either Berkeley or UCLA I will have to make the decision between going to a top UC for applied mathematics or a mediocre UC for my primary major, CS. Realistically, how hard is it to transfer into CS, attain a minor, or double major at Berkeley and UCLA? I have all prerequisites for both math and CS complete for all schools. If I can be GUARANTEED that I will get enough exposure to CS classes at Berkeley or UCLA, then my decision should be an easy one. Thanks!
