When is regents coming out? I heard it comes out really close to the end of the month like three days before because cal tries to protect their yield!
AC is not required for entry, but unless there’s a specific topic only taught at Berkeley, why spend so much extra money taking it at Berkeley instead of in CCC?
When do we have to send them the igetc certification form by? Can anyone tell me the process on how I should request my IGETC certificates?
@PokeBear they want it by July 15. So when you get your final grades either go online and search for it on your CCC’s website or go in to admissions. You have to fill out a form. It’s separate from the transcript request.
it’s okay if i leave the CalNetID and card tasks not finished for now right? even though they say overdue/due soon?
Sorry for the late request, but did anyone go to Transfer Day on May 4? If so, how was the turn out? Did they have the Cal Band, Oski, cheerleaders, etc. What did you think of the overall presentation? Just curious. (My son and I went to the presentation in L.A.).
My sister said it was not so hot. Not much going on.
@FlashyT can you please expand on the super competitve part?
Hey does anyone know when regents is coming out ?
I have a different experience from @FlashyT.
I made over a dozen new friends at Transfer Day and we are all in a big group chat now and some of us are planning to room together. I won a free Cal shirt at the basketball game too LOL.
I loved the college town in Cal (so many ethnic restaurants, music stores, sandwich shops, vintage clothes, etc.), the academic rigor people talked out, the diversity, the resources, etc.! I am talking to a transfer Berkeley student who has my major (media studies) and said the connections she gets are pretty awesome (she mentioned having a small internship at Google, working for the radio station, forgot what else). I grew up in the bay and it does bug me when people call our area and vibe dangerous or “ghetto”… We have crime but most big cities in the US do, Oakland and Berkeley are just more so but I mean… we survive lol. The crimes at least get reported and not hidden. Plus, Cal is gonna build housing over People’s Park starting soon so we will hear less crime happening there soon.
BUT I really don’t think you should SIR to Berkeley unless you visit first (or any school really).
@flashyt I would have killed to get an internship at Google. Not only does it open doors, the pay is one of the top around. To each their own.

I’m not sure how media production translates as necessary to thrive “in the industry” in the Bay Area (first I’ve heard this, really), but I suggest you move out of MS since you hate it so much. Why did you even accept the offer or even choose it? I loved MS, had access to Haas courses and had no problem using it to secure a job in my business field, which happens to be People Operations. I urge you to switch majors, since on top of hating it so much, a Google internship is the last thing you’d ever want. You did not choose wisely for your needs, it seems. I’m sorry. ?
arent a lot of those software engineering interns rather than non engineering roles?
@Lanjicucksmoke true, most are, but not all. There is a business side. And the pay is good. The point is OP said essentially he’d rather die than have a Google internship. ?
@FlashyT You say… “the program s*cks because is not a media production major”??? Nowhere did the major description say it was a “production” major. It’s a communication major, it used to be called mass comm I think, so it is described as being very theory-based if you look at the major requirements. It has nothing to do with film or graphic design or video production or anything hands-on and never has. You can always change your major if you decide to go to Cal but from what I know it’s not really a motion picture or artsy school so this place does not sound like it is for you.
Does anyone know if it is possible to change major since we are getting in as undeclared? I am trying to change my major within the L&S department but not sure if it is possible.
@cs123456 I don’t think it’s an issue as long as you’re in a position to declare by no later than the end of the Fall semester.
@cs123456 What are you trying to change into? Into CS or out of CS? Because if you are trying to declare as CS, you have to finish all the required classes to declare with a B+ average. You can change within the department, but make sure you meet the requirements to, or else they definitely won’t let you change major.
Has anyone gotten an email for regents? I heard it was supposed to come out today.
@transferjunkie I haven’t seen anyone post on here or on the Transfer 2021 page on FB yet. I searched last year’s thread, and one person who got Regents posted on 5/18 at about 5:45. The UCB Regent’s Scholarship page “2. When and how will I be notified about receiving the scholarship? Scholarship award notifications are sent to students the day the Office of Undergraduate Admissions releases acceptance announcements at the end of March. You will also see your scholarship award under My Finances on CalCentral. Transfer students are notified of scholarship awarding in mid-May. If you do not see a message in the student applicant portal, it is likely you were not awarded the scholarship.” https://financialaid.berkeley.edu/regents-and-chancellors-scholarship
Hi everyone! I have a question about rejecting an offer and then reapplying for admission. This year I took 64 semester units (6 over summer, 31 during fall, 27 now). I have a 3.9 GPA and was originally going to Cal as a poli sci /philo double major, but really want to change my major to bioengineering. If I stay at CC another year, I will roughly have 136 units. I realize that is an insane amount of units, but would I still be eligible for applying again?
