UC Berkeley Fall 2020: Transfer Thread

I know this is early, but I wanted to make a transfer thread right now for UC Berkeley 2020.

Feel free to comment based on this template (obtained from UC Berkeley Fall 2019 Thread):
GPA/ MAJOR GPA/ UC GPA
[ *] Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis):
[ *] Job/Work Experience:

[ *][ b] Intended Major [ /b]:
[ *] State (if domestic applicant):
[ *] Country (if international applicant):
[ *] School Type:
[ *] Gender:
[ *] Income Bracket:
[ *] Hooks (URM, first generation college, research, etc.):

[ *] Strengths:

Applying to what schools?

Here is my information and statistics (chance me):
Major: Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, or Statistics
GPA: 3.77/4.00
Honors: Yes, completing 16 honors units by the time of transfer.
STEM Tutor for Calculus I, VP of Pre-Health Club, member of PTK. Hoping to complete more extracurriculars based on math with the time this summer, but not sure if it’s already too late to obtain an opportunity to do so.
Applying to UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCI, UC Davis, CSULB, and CSUF.

Good luck to everyone in this process, and I look forward to seeing everyone’s comments!

Thx!

Possibly staying 3rd year at CC for Berkeley

How effective is UC Berkeley TAP?

@Davron yes, however, transfer applicants can choose between ACT and SAT.

No TAP for UCB or UCLA

[ *] Applied for Financial Aid?: yes

[ *] Gender: Male
[ *] Income Bracket: Below poverty threshold

[ *] Strengths:
[ *] Weaknesses: Have a W, likely will be finishing the major prep cal3 over this winter or 2020 spring, which is after the filing period.
Applying to what schools?: UCB, UCLA, TAG for UCI, UCSD, UCSB

PS: I want to get into UCB for econ so badly. But I know it’s reach because I 've barely had any extramural econ experience or internship. Would appreciate any help at this point

College: CCC in Bay Area
GPA: 3.9/3.9+
Major: History
job experience: none lol
Volunteer: 20+ hours
Strengths: Honors Program, Honors club, TAP ceritified
Applying to: UCLA, UCB, UCSB, Cal Poly SLO, SF State

@Davron Unlike UCLA, UCB’s TAP doesn’t give you any priority in the applicant pool. UCB’s TAP provides you with counseling and application guidance if I’m not mistaken. But hey, it can only help your chances. I also recommend looking into the Staring Point Mentorship Program if you haven’t already.

Berkeley TAP is for low income, minority or first gen. It provides support. Not honors or priority. Guidance. But if you fit that it’s a good tool to have.
