I would love some advice on what I should double major in. I applied as an English major, and for my second major I’m deciding between Rhetoric, Legal Studies, and Global Studies. Just something to pair well with english, since I have a lot of the courses and prerequisites done so I’d have enough space in my schedule for another major. Would love to know your thoughts

Good luck everyone!

Everyone is posting their stats so I’ll post mine. At this point, there is so much uncertainty. Hope all goes well. Good luck to everyone. You are all so talented and I wish everyone the best.

Here are my stats while I was at CC. I didn’t include anything from HS on my app. Only that I received my diploma.

Major: Cog Sci
Gender: F
w/ learning disability

◆ GPA: 3.67, Major GPA: 3.8 (I have approx. 93 UC transferable
units)
◆ Major Prep: Complete (by this semester w/ extra required
courses not offered at my home CC)
◆ IGETC: Complete

◆ Volunteer at Animal Shelter
◆ A.A. Natural Sciences & Mathematics (MCL)

Hooks:
Up-ward trend in grades + I have nothing lower than a “B” on my overall transcript
First generation college student
Worked while going to school
In - State
Essays (strong)
Independent status (26 y/o)

Weakness: NO TAP, missing 1 honors unit 14/15
GPA: slightly below 25th percentile of admits
Also, I have been going to college for a while on and off due to financial obligations and medical treatment. This has all been covered and explained in the app. Many semesters I was also a part-time student.
4 W’s total previously in non-essential/major related classes due to financial obligations and medical leave.

I will be in L&S too. What should I expect in regards to workload? some say I will be overloaded with work others say it will be not bad as long as I am a fast learner. I have no clue what to expect. I’m certain it will be harder then CC, but how much I don’t know.

@sadgal
Hey! Applied as chemical biology as well: I am so happy to find another person! I actually left csu to cc in order to transfer. I thought about applying form csu but I didn’t know what to do. Props to you tho, hope you get in^~^

I’m a little nervous posting stats, but I just wanted to say that I’m an Art Major and I’m excited for tomorrow to see what happens!

I honestly believe that I have no chance whatsoever, but here are my stats

My Stats:
Major: Rhetoric
GPA: 3.6 (75ish credits)

EC’s/things I put in my application:
2nd generation Japanese
Disability Student who also helps/volunteers for other disability students
Took a gap year because of autoimmune issues
Triathlon
Equestrian/Western
Dean’s List

Other Schools I applied to CSUF, CSULB, SDSU, UCSD, UCR, UCI, UCSB, UCD, UCB, UCLA, and UCSC.

Accepted: CSUF, CSULB, UCR, UCSC, UCD
Declined: SDSU

I hope that all of you get in

I have recently applied for FAFSA. Can I still qualify and get Blue and Gold Scholarship?

Hey, does anyone know if completing IGETC boosts your chances at admission? I read on their website that they only accept UC IGETC in full, not partial. I was wondering if my completion of this made me more competitive. (I am down 2 - 3 prep classes for my major but I have a 3.94 gpa)

Either way, I will find out tomorrow at 3 just like the rest of us! Good luck!!!

Hi all,

What was six months became less than a day and I’m honestly shi***ing bricks , so if anyone can take a moment to look at my application and tell me what my chances are that’d be great.

Major: Poli Sci

GPA: 3.66 as of now, will be 3.7+ after this spring, which I indicated on my additional notes with the TAU.
Major GPA: 4.0

IGETC done after this spring with 60 units and major GPA is 4.0
Essays: pretty solid, had plenty of people edit them, wrote about how politics gave me purpose as a first generation middle eastern immigrant (moved here in 2010), and how I turned my hardships into motivation.

ECs: interned for a house campaign, worked for a city council campaign, and organized for a presidential campaign. Currently work as a Registered behavior technician, a position that I earned with Hard work. Was also a part of a few clubs.
Hooks: First generation Iraqi, lived in war, learned English, battled mental health and social barriers, politics gave me purpose.
Weakness: GPA less than 25 percentile for poli sci, 15 units/60 still in progress, repetitive personal insight talking points.

Applied: UCLA, UCB, UCD, UCR, UCSD, UCSB
Accepted: UCR with honors, UCD
Waiting: the rest

I’d really appreciate honest feedback, good luck to all!

@Aj7510 Since UCB does a holistic approach, your chances look good even besides the GPA! You have some really good EC’s and hooks. Good luck

I’m so nervous tbh but I’m still happy that I was able to apply and receive a response
-GPA:3.8
Major: Global Studies
-Will have IGETC completed this semester
EC’s; Was involved in two first year programs, work two part time jobs (on campus as a student assistant, and cleaning houses), volunteering, was nominated to Lobby for HACU, won district wide scholarships, Phi Theta Kappa
-Hooks; first generation latina student, emphasized my involvement as an advocate for undocumented people, breaking the narrative
-Weaknesses- a few b’s and possibly could have done more ec’s but I’ve been financially supporting myself while helping my family and peers out
Best of luck to everyone!!1

The reason I’m alarmed at this is because my MAP portal is not the same as the Calnet I used for cross enrollment, and I applied to Berkeley two years ago from high school with the same MAP portal. However, CalCentral (connected to my CalNet from cross enrollment) asks me to send in specific AP scores that I took in high school, which they can only find in my MAP portal. I’m wondering how they connected the two accounts together.

Maybe your apply email address is the same as your recover email address of the CalCentral(connected to your CalNet from cross-enrollment)

so I assume decisions will be coming out sometime in the afternoon then? I saw 3pm, is that for sure?

Good luck everyone! I hope you all get in
