L&S does not admit by major but he can start in his preferred major and then declare when ready based on pre-req courses and policy guidelines.

Each major has different requirements in order to declare and different processes. Most major departments in L&S have clear guidelines for declaration on the major’s website. If you have trouble finding your department’s website, you can always go to the Berkeley Academic Guide(link is external)to look up your major. yes, that is the case. it’s hard getting off berkeley eecs WL, UCLA bio waitlist, etc.

it’s just the law of supply and demand unfortunately… ik multiple ppl who’ve gotten off UCLA engineering WL in past yrs but none for bio

    Astrology was wrong it turned out. Son checked in the morning, and got “no authorization for welcome event” error. Was quite sad. Now he is happy! :partying_face:

Oh the UCs are quite a mystery…
D22 Accepted much to our surprise. We are local Oakland family.
UW: 4.0
W: 4.4
Lots of ECs, 5 APs

She was waitlisted at UCLA and UCSD, got in to UCSB and UCI.

Twin got in to UCSC, waitlisted at UCD and UCSD.

As a Cal alum, I am beyond thrilled…

The SEED scholar invite has thrown us off. I thought S22 was heading to UCSB but now, I don’t know. It looks like such a great program. We’ll at the minimum apply and see what happens.

We knew Berkeley would be a reach, so not surprised. Leaning toward SLO, then SDSU, then UCSD for international business. In a way, I guess it’s a relief and maybe better than being waitlisted and hanging on to a thread of hope, haha!
