Congratulations everyone!!! :bz Y’all are impressive. Very inspiring reading through the posts.
http://www.haas.berkeley.edu/Undergrad/pdf/application-instructions.pdf
At the bottom of that PDF are instructions on how to access the Haas application, Ive been having trouble though. Have my email and CalNet stuff all set up and I actually get to the home page but then it just crashes when I try to view anything, maybe someone else will have better luck!
@kamiture Aww shucks :bz
Oh PS there is a transfer update form on the MAP Portal that is due July 1, its for reporting any changes to your academic progress!
Still can’t find the Haas Welcome Letter, the Haas Policy Statement, or the Haas New Student Form.
I was able to create a CalNet ID though.
Anyone make any headway?
This sh*t is confusing.
@briank82 So, apparently the website is: https://hugs.haas.berkeley.edu/
However, it does not work for me yet. To log into the website we need a Berkeley email (bConnected), that we create with our CalNet ID, however it is not letting me create one of these either.
If you look on the CalCentral Dashboard, on the top left under the header - “Sunday May 1” - you can see that it says you have not set up a bConnected account. But when I try to do so with my Calnet ID it says the account could not be assessed.
@HaasBounded When you go to the bconnected page on the top right there will be a quick links tab, select create an account
Hi so I’ve been accepted to Haas but I don’t see any of those Haas notifications you all have been talking about… Do I have to SIR to receive them? Also congratulations to everyone who got in, you all deserve it! Any other CCSF transfer students here?
@MikeSauce Thank you!
Cool, will give it a try. Thanks guys.
Also, do we need to start worrying about signing up for classes? For Haas, do we really need to worry about getting shut out of classes, or does the size of Haas and the priority we get make it pretty easy? Not sure if we’re supposed to wait for advising or what, I just see people talking about signing up for classes.
I’ve been away from my computer almost non-stop since decisions were sent out so I really haven’t had a chance to go through everything. Moving suckssssss.
@Ucbound2016 I’m a CCSF transfer, but I go to two other CCC’s as well. Not sure re: Haas notification. It should be the top right side of the screen on CalTransfer.
@briank82 vets are required by state law to have priority reg so even if we dont go to calso we should still be in the first wave of registration groups. Also looked at a few of the haas classes and even the most crowded were only at about 40% capacity
@MikeSauce I looked at some Haas classes and it seems that some are actually full/almost full. Where did you look? I used http://www.berkeleytime.com/catalog/ and selected Undergraduate Business Administration as the Department.
That site didnt list an UGBA classes for me. I searched the official catalog http://schedule.berkeley.edu/
I just got your site to work and it says bus 100 is 95% capped, but the official catalog says there are only 7 people enrolled…
Ah yeah that is a much more up-to-date catalog. Still however, if you uncheck “Show Open Classes Only”, you will see that a decent amount of classes are waitlisted/closed.
So I’ve also applied to a few private schools and I’m still waiting for their decisions. Does anyone know if there is any reason not to SIR with Berkeley? Could it have an effect on the off chance that I am accepted and decide to attend one of those private schools?
Anyone else doing Haas PreCore? It sounds really useful and would give us a better idea of what we’re getting into, but I’m thinking I have different plans. And it’s kind of expensive. Hmmm.
@briank82 Im considering it… It seems like they are relatively intro classes when you look at the descriptions, but it would definitely be helpful for a smoother transition. I think it might be better for me however to go abroad and take a break from all of this for a little while.
You’ll see that some courses have open seats but have huge waitlists already. Those courses have spots reserved for Haas transfers and freshmen admits awaiting entrance into Haas. You guys will get a special enrollment code during your orientation that will allow you to bypass any waitlist and enroll into the reserved spots. The long waitlists are essentially people hoping that they can scavenge the leftover openings and / or that they add seats or another section.
I think they’d be really useful in a lot of ways. Like, get familiarized with the campus, with the layout of Haas, meet some professors, some fellow Haas students, and in general get a better idea of what’s expected, what you need to know, and have a head start.
I definitely think it’s interesting, but I have an opportunity for a full summer scholarship at Stanford designed for veterans. It’s 8 weeks and I’d take two classes which would be useful, but neither would work towards my degree. Not sure if an MBA is in my future but it would create a unique connection to the campus that could really be an advantage to me if I wanted to try and do that.
But it’s 8 weeks and doesn’t help me at all in terms of finishing classes required to graduate.
So, I don’t know.
@mikesauce look under bus admin on the site - not UGBA. They use both.
Anyone having issues with https://hugs.haas.berkeley.edu/?
I have CalCentral, CalNet ID and bConnected all set up. I was able to get into it a few days ago, but now I get an error saying “Sorry, an error occurred while processing your request. Try returning to the Main Menu. If that doesn’t work, please report this problem to the Undergraduate Program Office.”
The top right shows my @berkeley.edu email address, so I know I’m logged in.
Logging out and clicking “Check Application” brings me to my list of Google accounts, and I select my Berkeley.edu email. It asks for permission for offline access, I approve, and back to the error page.
Hmm. I accessed it a few days ago but didn’t have time to complete it. Now I can’t get in.
