UC Berkeley Haas 2016 Transfer Thread

@briank82 I am planning on doing it. I’m hoping my update to my FAFSA will kick in soon and I can see if it’s covered. Fingers Crossed!

Nice, @nnatho! Have you seen the costs? I know it’s a few grand, but haven’t been able to see an exact cost.

On another note, anyone know what our schedules once school starts? I’ve already completed the 7 breadth requirements as well as both the American Cultures and American History/Institutions requirements, so I’m curious to what type of course load I might have since these classes are all taken care of. Even more so if I knock out some units during the summer in Haas PreCore.

Hmmm… Does anyone know if you have attended 2 high schools if you have to send transcripts from both or just the one you graduated from (since this one had the credits transferred over from my other high school)?

I think they just cared about where you graduated from, so they can confirm you graduated and did it when you said you did. I’d confirm, but that seems most reasonable.

I think the reason is for the language requirement, which I completed at the high school I did not graduate from, but I’m not sure if the high school I graduated from would include my other transcripts since those classes transferred over. Sadly, neither my high school counselor nor Berkeley admissions are answering their phones.

I called Haas and they said I would need to send both, aghhhh

If your grades from the prior school is on the last school’s transcript, you don’t need to send both according to the rep I spoke to today.

Did anyone else get an email that there was an update to the Conditions of Admission? @briank82 @MikeSauce

I didn’t. What was the update?

@HaasBounded I didn’t. I saw people from other majors talking about it but I never received anything.

Is anyone else having trouble with the Haas application website? I could access it once, but now I get an error. I went to Haas today and they said there was an issue with the link and they sent me a “corrected” one, but it had the same issue.

I did, Ive checked the portals and my conditions are the same. I have no clue what it could be.

@MikeSauce Hey! Did you receive this letter after you SIRed? my admissions letter did not sound like this and I still haven’t been able to find any of this:
-View your Haas Welcome Letter
-Review and Sign the Haas Policy Statement
-Complete the Haas New Student Form. Access to the Haas website requires CalNet Authentication.
Once again, let us take this opportunity to congratulate you

I haven’t SIRed yet… do you think thats the problem?

why hello @missnewbooty95 I did SIR and new updates are rolling in every day, I would submit your SIR if you want access to those notifications, though right now no one that I know of can actually access those documents, save for the welcome letter, which I posted earlier in this thread.

@briank82 I’m having trouble with the Haas site now as well too (I get an error message now). @MikeSauce My conditions look exactly the same too… I wonder what the update was…

^^ Good to know it’s not just me. I went in today and it sounds like they’re having problems with it, but they sent me a “fixed” link and it was exactly the same. So, I dunno.

On another note, I’ve decided to do the PreCore Haas. I think it’ll be good for me getting into the groove of things. I thought it was 8 weeks at first, but it’s just 5 and that’s nothing.

Does anyone know how much PreCore would be around?

I haven’t heard an exact price, but in general, summer courses at Berkeley are $406 per unit plus a $268 campus fee and a $54 documentation fee.

PreCore is 6 units, so do the math. That might not be the exact price but I’d venture it’s in the neighborhood.

http://summer.berkeley.edu/registration/fees

@briank82 ok so
Precore is 6 units
406 x 6 = 2436
2436 + 268 + 54 = 2758.
Look I did the monster math!!!

For anyone wondering about the whole new conditions of admission email they got, login to MAP and where the Haas supplement thing was you should see an option called transfer undergraduate admission update. You just need to check a couple of boxes saying you do/don’t have any changes to report. I think that may be what they’re referring to but I may be mistaken

Guys can I bring this rad snake to class with me
