UC Berkeley Haas 2019 Transfer Thread

@kt_ay decisions come out at 4 for sure?

I’m a little late here, but does anyone know if getting an interview is a positive or a negative? I never got an interview, and I’m worried that it’s indicative of them not being interested in me since my gpa is a 3.81. (I have tons of EC though.)

Yes, decisions are confirmed via the undergraduate office to come out at 4:00. @JakeRice40

@nickidreaming so you’re the 7th haas applicant in this forum who has not received an interview. I also didn’t receive an interview.

@GoodAfternoonSir I also did not receive an interview. I had a 4.00 though, but very few extra curriculars

I will say regarding last year they came out about an hour earlier than announced. Those UCB folks are rascals.

I found out some info that caught my eye. For transfers, the comprehensive review process considers Associate degrees and Associate degrees for transfer earned as merit.

I listed to be earning 7 associate degrees on the Haas resume in spring 2019. I’ve received approval for all 7 of these about a month ago. I wonder why haas didn’t audit me, this seems to be something out of the ordinary if im not mistaken.

@JakeRice40 Okay so a total of atleast 8 people reported to me (including you and me) through DM’s and public posts like you did on this thread, haven’t received an interview.

I’m kinda excited what’s going to happen now.

I have a request everybody, when you post your stats if you were accepted, waitlisted, or rejected, can you include whether you received an interview or not, it’s a really pressing matter and this will help future applicants a ton with their anxiety and keep them composed while waiting for decisions.

@goodafternoonsir an interview is not an indicator or admission or not. It is simply an opportunity for the admissions board to learn more about you, get specific questions answered, and further their holistic admissions process.

Hey guys! Decision will come out at 4pm!!! If you get accepted, pls share your stat.

Good luck to everyone. Hopefully we all get in!!!

I got in. GPA - 3.81. I changed my major from Computer Science to Business Administration the very last minute.

I didn’t do a lot of extracurricular activites. However, I have been volunteering at Sacred Heart for the past 4 years. And I think the one thing that makes me stand out the most is my work experience.

I am a Portfolio Analyst working at LinkedIn while I am only 2nd year college student. This brings a big value to my essay as well as during my interview as well.

Congrats to everyone who gets accepted as well! Hope to see you guys soon!

I got rejected

~No interview~

1 year at a California Community College
4.0 GPA at both Oregon and CC

Volunteer work coaching at my high school and preparing income taxes for lower income individuals

This one hurt ladies and gentlemen

Accepted. This is insane! I really thought my interview ruined me.

GPA 4.0
CCc transfer
EC’s: Academic tutor for 2 years, SI for one and a half, became the youngest staff member at my college. I also came to the U.S 4 years ago with no English.
I did get an interview and it did not go that good.

Rejected with GPA 4.0

I do not think my EEC is weak but I can see there are a lot of younger generation with excellent EEC.

Gpa: 4.0

HAAS (Business Administration)
College transferring from: Pepperdine University
GPA: 3.71 (Got “A” in all the Business classes that I have taken: Financial Accounting, Business Calculus, Business Statistics, and Organizational Behavior)
Units completed: 62 units after Spring semester+AP
Pre-reqs completed: missing UC’s second English course (Pepperdine does not offer it and I spent my freshman year summer interning instead of taking this course at a community college)
Essay: 9/10 (Spent more than two months working on it)
Resume: 9/10 (impressive internship expereinces+on-campus job)

Comments: I am not too surprised because of the missing English prereqs. UCSD and UCI are more lenient on admitting applicants with missing prereqs. Hopefully, I will hear good news soon.

Given the competitiveness of HAAS, I won’t be too surprised if I still could not get in with that English finished.

Anyways, my main focus now is USC and Emory, as they (private schools) don’t care too much about missing one or two prereqs as long as they see you as a good fit.

Accepted!
Transferring from De Anza College
GPA: 3.70
