UC Berkeley Haas 2019 Transfer Thread

@transferszn I went back and reviewed some of the old forums. Looks like people were having interviews the last week in March.

@neilsola @transferszn @GoodAfternoonSir Did anyone submit their supplemental essay yet? If not, when do you plan to? I’ll probably submit mine on Thursday morning or afternoon. I have one more person scheduled to proof read it for me tomorrow. Eek!! I can’t wait to hit that submit button.

@ashleymp I’m doing the same, I’ll submit by thursday afternoon to make sure I’ve done my best on the supplemental application and complete it extremely carefully

@ashleymp Submitting mines on Wednesday because I have a flight to Miami on Thursday morning. Can I possibly read your essay?

@neilsola Let me think about it. It’s extremely personal and a bit risky since it’s a hot issue. It’s my true story though. I just hope the reader can sense how personal it is for me. I’ll get back to you tomorrow, so maybe.

@ashleymp Ok, that’s fine. If I can’t read it do you mind just telling me the topic? Also I think the readers want to see how you affected people around you not just personal growth

@neilsola it definitely incorporates that. It’s a story of how I was able to help another individual find a way to be more inclusive and accepting of other individuals when previously they were not due to a norm in the way they were raised. I get more specific but that’s about the gist of it. They ask for a very specific situation, so that’s mine. How about you, what’s your topic?

Piece of advice. Do not share essays.

@Ohm888 We shared the theme, we did not share our actual essays with anyone. Thank you for the advice though, you’re right.

@Ohm888 it depends on the situation

@Ohm888 @neilsola I would say wait until all essays have been submitted. After that, it doesn’t matter. In the end it’s all personal preference and what you’re comfortable with.

Exactly @ashleymp Proceed at your own risk before submission if sharing with another applicant. Not to say all ppl are looking for ideas, but some are, and how does anyone know? Everyone’s a stranger up here. What happens when the exact same sentence shows up in two applications? Probably both applicants will get rejected.

Hey if anyone could help me with I would appreciate it. I have a job that I am still partaking in so for the “end date” on the CAL resume is it okay to just say “Present”? Also for the hours/week some weeks I do not work with my employer at all because it is on a need basis. I am just giving a rough estimate based on how many hours I do monthly and dividing that into 4 weeks? I do not want them to think I am padding my resume in any way.

@transferszn I plan to put ‘Present’ in the end date field for my current employment. As far as the hrs/week, I’m unsure what to do there myself.

@transferszn I put in the average for the hrs/week. That way it matches the total hours I included in my original UC application. Good luck!! I just submitted mine. Eek!

I will submit mine in noon today to get this over with! Been stressing out like crazy! I did like 10 drafts for my UC essays and surprisingly on 2 drafts for the Haas essay. Just wish everything will turn out good! Goodluck everyone!

Submitted mine at midnight, now off to Miami for grant cardones 10xgrowthcon

@ashleymp thanks! good look to you too! Now the waiting beings. :frowning:

Hey guys, I submitted my application at 10:20 PM in San Jose today, however, it shown that I submitted on February 1,2019. Anyone know what’s happened?:,(

Yeah, I’m near San Jose and I just submitted a few minutes ago. It says Feb 1 2019… I’ll call Haas tomorrow and see what’s going on.
