Hey guys,
I recently got my college acceptances and found out I was lucky enough to be accepted into Berkeley and NYU! Well here comes the hard part. I was accepted to Berkeley as undecided (letters and sciences) and into NYU’s Stern business school. I’m a cali resident so going to NYU would be double the costs, but is it worth it? Cal is close by but the only thing holding me back is that I’m not guaranteed admission into their business school which is what I ultimately want to accomplish.
Any help/advice would be great!
Yes Stern is worth it. Being in NYC at a prestigious business school is one of best opportunities someone can have.
I got a very generous scholarship to Stern but even if I didn’t I would’ve paid every penny to attend this school because of all the opportunities it afforded me.
If you think you can get into Haas as a junior (you apply in your sophomore year), then it is worth going to Haas. Haas is very well known nationally in the business community. Students from UCB getting admitted to Haas have an average GPA of almost 3.7 with an acceptance rate of a little over 40%. You might want to evaluate your chances and talk Haas officials. I know of want to be bus. majors high school students choosing UCLA’s business econ. rather than take a chance of getting into Haas. If you choose Berkeley and don’t get into Haas, your backup plan would be economics at UCB or transfer to another school, like USC. Maybe even a CSU, which I don’t think you would want to do.
Stern is a great school and since you are already admitted, you might want to strongly consider it, if the finances work out.
