Hey, does UC Berkeley have a legacy program? For example, if the applicant has a couple cousins that got into Berkeley, will the applicant have a much stronger chance of getting in? Does the UC application ask for relatives in UC?

no to all of your questions

the UCs dropped legacy tips 10+ years ago.

I think legacies only apply to immediate family members.. not sure, but cousins seem kind of far away for it to matter much. Also, it shouldn't matter if they got in but rather if they attended.. they'll ask for graduates or students at Berkeley, not for admittances.

Nah, they really don't care who you're affiliated with.

sorry, UC legacies mean absolutely nothing. They only ask if you parent(s) are college grads to see if you are eligible for bonus points for being first gen to go to college. After that, they don't care if your parents went to Cal or Stanford.

any other opinions?

Nowhere on the application does it ask you for this kind of legacy information. That's it.

These aren't "opinions"; they're facts. From Berkeley's common data set 2005-2006:

Alumni/ae relation: not considered
