Berkeley sent me an email asking me for a letter of recommendation. Does this mean I’m a borderline candidate or something? I applied for materials science and engineering if that matters beyond the fact that it’s impacted.
Did Berkeley ask you for a letter of recommendation from the University of Texas?!!??

But I’m not sure if it’s for borderline applicants or if they send it to random people. I have 2 friends who got requests. One has excellent test scores and ECs but GPA a bit lower, though still competitive. The other also has excellent test scores and ECs, and her GPA was also higher than the first friend. Both applied for L&S majors. I would take this as a good sign for you, though; you’re in their radar and you have the opportunity to submit something that could make a difference! Make sure to get good letters and good luck!!
