how hard is it, what are the avg.'s needed to get in..

3.7+ is appropriate

It's easier than Comm Studies @ UCLA. That's for sure. I got in with a 3.63 w/ all prereqs done (I didn't even realize it until recently) because I was aiming for UCLA. I know it was my essay that got me in though. & some legit ECs.
I think it's like a 38% acceptance rate for Mass Comm's department.

But I think Berkeley's mass comm. program varies greatly from other communication majors at other UCs. It seems very media/journalistic-oriented.

I'll find out more this fall. :)

Beardy, how do you get that info?

i'm pretty sure berkeley doesn't give out that kinda info like UCLA does...probably just a guesstimate

Cal's mass communication program is a lot less impacted, I agree. I know people with 3.6+s that were admitted.

Just my personal estimate based on college confidential's mass comm transferee GPAs.

how exactly do the programs compare though? is UCLA a lot better?

Well, in terms of comparison, Berkeley is more prestigious, however UCLA is a great media outlet. In the end, you can't go wrong with either, they're both great schools.

I have a 3.75 at a CC and have applied to Berkeley for Mass Comm and UCLA for Comm Studies

What are my chances for both?

I have finished all prereq's for both.

In at Berkeley, 7/10 chance at UCLA.

anyone know of any transfer student(s) who has switched to Mass Comm from w/in college of letters and science?

awesome...really do you think Grey-Synactics that its like over 95% chance for Berkeley?
Because if so--way awesome.

I just got in to UCB media studies too. I am wondering whether it is a must to take summer session for MS 10 to declare major. And which session, session C or D should i take? If i dun take summer and i can’t register MS 10 in fall, does it mean that i can’t major in MS?
