UC Berkeley only offers BA in biology?

I was looking at the major descriptions on Berkeley transfer website and noticed that almost all of the science degrees besides engineering and chemistry only offer BA's. Why is that? I was hoping to transfer to Berkeley and major in Biochemistry, but I do not want to come out with a BA. So would it be wise to choose Chemical Biology (which offers a BS) as my major instead?

All of Berkeley’s biological sciences are in the College of Letters of Arts and Sciences. Therefore these majors are completed for the B.A. degree whilst engineering major is completed for B.S. It doesn’t really matter which degree you end up getting, so chill.
