Hi! So I just got accepted to many schools that apply and my top two choices are Berkeley and Irvine. However, I have no idea what school to choose. My major is nursing and I am not sure which school would be best for me. My sister is telling me to choose Irvine but my cousin and my friend are telling me to choose Berkeley (maybe a little biased cause they both went to Berkeley). Can you guys explain what school I should choose and why?
You probably posted in this sub-forum thinking that it was for "American Universities’’ but it is actually about one particular University, the American University in Washington DC.
This forum sub-section is probably better for you: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-general/
Congratulations, by the way. Both UCB and UCI are amazing schools and you cannot go wrong with either of them!
Oh wow I didn’t even notice. And thanks so much!
Both are fine schools, but Berk has a higher reputation overall. Unless being in SoCal is important to you, I’d go with UCB.
Well, you may want to check which school actually offers a nursing science major. In addition, you may want to check whether you are directly admitted to the nursing major, or must apply into a competitive admission process to change into the nursing major.
For irvine I got admitted to the nursing program and for Berkeley I got admitted with the major of biochemistry. What I am confused about is, isn’t nursing program just the classes I need to take to get to nursing school? So wouldn’t I be able to do that as well at Berkeley?
Going into a nursing program would definitely help your chances towards a nursing school. I know that UCLA, UCI, and SJSU have very good nursing programs.
