I was accepted into UC Berkeley and UCLA for Applied Mathematics (for transfer) but I am also hoping to switch/double major in CS as well. I was just wondering which school would be better for my major(s) and why? I understand that UC Berkeley would be the obvious choice because it is in the Bay Area and also next to all the tech companies, but I was wondering if there were any other pros/cons that I should also consider before making my final decision. Thanks for reading!
CS is not as hard to get into at UCB compared to UCLA.
UCB L&S CS needs a 3.3 GPA in CS 61A, 61B, 70. UCLA CS is highly competitive admission for current students.
As a transfer student you are not allowed to switch majors to CS in the school of engineering for UCLA. If you are a transfer you much be directly admitted into CS from the application.
