Many people from my high school applied to both LA and Berkeley and usually they get into either one or the other and not both. Did any of you guys apply to both and get in? Did any of you apply to both and get into one or the other? Thanks!

I got into both as a transfer.

y e s .........

I got into UCB but not UCLA.

i got into both out of state...but i have heard of also only getting into one. it's not like the two schools confer with each other. it's usually geography.

It's because they're both highly selective schools, and the odds of getting accepted to both are low.

I got into both though. ;)

Me, too. As a transfer, though.

Accepted to both as an incoming freshman

I got into both UCLA and Berkeley as an out of state freshman. Good luck to you wherever you apply!!

Accepted to both in EECS. Chose Cal over Stanford even though I live 2 miles from the Farm - Best decision of my life!

got into both--

Got both. Got UCLA bioengineering, actually. Cal undeclared. This is a very common dillemma for Californian high school seniors: Cal or UCLA. For me, it was more about distance. I don't have to take a plane to get home from college, I just take the BART.

There's no curse or anything, if you have a strong application, there's no reason why you couldn't get into both. There's no communication between the UC's about applicants, at least there shouldn't be.

Got into both, but only a few more at my school had this happen. Some people at my school only applied to one or neither and would have gotten into the other or both.

Accepted to both Berkeley and UCLA as a freshman applicant.

well, aim78, all of the admissions people get detailed information about who is and who isn't accepted after the process. I'm not sure what happens during.

You guys helped a lot. I think I'm going to apply to both and see what happens.

Last year the top students from my high school got into both UCB and UCLA.
