I'm down to my last two choices for where I will spend the next four years. I've visited both campuses (and will be going back again next week) and they both seem pretty nice.

My first priority when it comes to choosing is the setting/atmosphere/socialization. You see, I've attended the same all-boys private school for the past 8 years and have limited social skills/experiences thanks to a lack of self-will and demanding Asian tiger parents. I've spent so much time on schoolwork/SAT/apps that now I want to regain what I've lost and go to a place where I can easily meet friends and be in a happy and comfortable environment.

My parents on the other hand, are more focused towards long-term prospects, and believe that NYU Stern will build me great connections and provide internship opportunities which would help me advance my career in business and have a better materialistic life.

One thing that I agree with is that I am already into NYU's business school, whereas at UCB I'll have to reapply in a couple of years.

I'm tired of succumbing to my parents every whim for the past 18 years, and I want this decision to be based completely upon myself, but they do raise some substantial points in their reasoning.

Of note: I'm a decently intelligent Chinese Canadian male with a moderate liberal view.
