can someone please explain how priority registration for regents works? do regents scholars get to register for classes earlier than everyone else?
if anyone could put this in terms of specific registration dates/times for fall 2018 class registration that would be super helpful.
cal website says phase i enrollment for new undergrads begins july 16. my calcentral says my registration is on july 18, and i am a regents scholar. so does this mean regents scholars don’t get to register early?
or is it like everyone registers whenever (i.e. sometime between july 16 and july 20 something) but nobody receives their official schedule right after registering. and then at the end of the registration period, if certain classes are filled up, regents scholars would get priority over other students. and then once this is considered everyone receives their official schedules?
@traveler2000 I’m pretty sure that priority registration for Regents starts only for the second semester. I’m also a Regents scholar and my registration time is on July 18th.

FAQ 6 for Prospective Students: When do I begin receiving the priority enrollment benefit? Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholars will receive priority enrollment through My Academics on CalCentral.
FAQ 2 for Current Scholars. When do I begin receiving the priority enrollment benefit? Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholars will receive priority enrollment through My Academics on CalCentral.
Neither says anything about second versus first semester. I’d call and ask.
@AboutTheSame @traveler2000 please see below:
Priority Registration: Priority class registration applies in phases. Scholarship recipients get priority for Tele-BEARS Phase 1 (10.5 units) and Phase 2 (15.5 units + 1 class), respectively. Please note that priority does not apply for Phase 1 of their Freshman year – as such, scholarship recipients are encouraged to attend an early orientation (CalSO)

The main point I was highlighting is that priority doesn’t apply for Phase 1 Freshman year
