UC Berkeley Regents Scholarship?

I just got the letter and I am soooo excited. I've wanted to go to Berkeley forever.

i know who you are..Mr.X_, yea i got both invites..ucla and UCB regents..and my last name ends with G too.

i got my letter.... wheee

me too

bah

more work

yay! i'm sooooooooooooooooooo excited!!!!!!!!! got the invite too, my first acceptance ever :D

do all candidates who apply receive the scholarship?

i think ~1000 are invited for the scholarship and 200 actually receive it.

Still wondering if this is for California residents only? If so, is there something comparable for non-residents?

From the website:

i got the e-mail 2/14 but i checked my mail today (2/15) , but I didn't get the application in the mail. Did anyone get anything?

If you still haven't received an email, I think you can check at myBerkeleyApplication:

https://students.berkeley.edu/myberkeley/myberkeleyapp.asp

It'll say Congratulations under "Messages" once you login.

Has anybody received the actual paper invitation in the mail, though?

I'm getting angry at berkeley now. Perhaps I'll be one of those people who get wooed away by UCLA or an east coast college.

Yeah the myBerkeleyApplication has the link to RSVP for your interview.

Congrats to those received the invitation,

but on a side note....

The whole Regent Scholarship package is not that enticing. No priority registration (oh boy that's a big letdown), the $$ you'll get is not all that great compared to other schools, 4-years guaranteed housing is not that of a big deal since most people move out the Units after 1 or 2 years.

No wonder we're losing like half of the scholarship recipients to other schools.........

But oh well, it's not a bad deal anyway :o

You're right; in comparison, the UCLA one looks so much more lucrative... but oh well. Then again, it IS Cal.

yayyyy... I got my letter/packet today.

has anyone not gotten the letter i've gotten the e-mail, but nothing in the mail

mruncleramos -- I know exactly how you feel. I received Regents to each UC I applied to (SD/LA/Davis), but didn't even get an invite from Berkeley. I was really annoyed because I felt I was really qualified in comparison to those who did receive an invitation, and not just in terms of scores/academics. Still, I'm at Berkeley now, soooo...

can the reason i did not receive an invitation for the regents scholarship be because i put a high number for my parents' income in the application?

These are merit money, not need based.
