UC Berkeley Regents

interviewed today!

had a blast and loving the admitted button :D

glad you enjoyed it. Who was your interviewer? Now, you can enjoy the rest of your year in peace. haha

does anyone know how many candidates there are for the Regents Scholarship?

I thought there was a lot a like hundreds and that not that many get selected. However, my professor told me that candidates have a 50% chance of getting selected. Is that true?

I heard 1/3 are selected?

i also heard 1/3 from a financial aid representative before my interview

how did you guys feel you did? I felt that my professor talked for about 60% of the interview while in usual interviews I do about 90% of the talking… is Berkeley Regents interviews just like this?

hmm I have a weird question about regents…
my friend got in with regents…but the thing is…
she got a 1470 out of 2400 on her SAT
and she accumulated a 3.5ish gpa.
she’s not a minority nor does she have very good ECs.
so…i was just wondering…how does this regents thing really work???

you sure she didnt mean 1470/1600?

3.5 was probably unweighted… & she probably wrote an incredible essay… I think that’s what make or breaks someone when it comes to candidacy for Regents Scholars since there are so many applicants with great GPAs and SAT scores. :] hope this helps

no i mean 1470/2400 lol
and also i mean 3.5 weighted!
Yea i think her essay was probably kick ass! but i didn’t read it so i can’t really comment…
hmmmm i guess this should give hope to kids next year then? idk it just seems odd to me but yeah… =]
