@dr0wning What my counselor had basically said was that SATs/ACTs are more reliable for admissions because they’re the same for everyone and can be compared. With GPA, there are many other factors at play, such as the type of classes, what each high school offers, etc, and because of that, they’re used more to give a general understanding of how the student performed, but not too useful for comparison.
My ex boyfriend goes to a private school that inflates their GPAs a ton. He has a 4.8 W GPA with hardly any honors classes and no APs (even though they’re offered), and his performance in those classes is average at best, so I can’t even imagine what GPA a student with high performance at that school would have lol. His SAT was in the 1600s
