I took the hardest classes in last spring and I screw up, end up getting 1C in linear algebra which is my math major class. Although it does not say I need a B for major, but it does say I need to keep up GPA above 3.0. I won’t get 3.0 if I get C in math, which is because I have two other classes end up with B and one class with A. However, I took two classes in winter which I got both A. I just emailed the admission, and waiting for respond. I am not optimistic this time since I just misses 2 percent on my math final to get a B, I put all my effort and energy into physics class and computer science class, which is required by UCSD.##@anyway, I don’t know if I can get through this anymore.
If anyone is in the same boat with me(slightly below 3.0)please discuss with me what are you going to do…
If I get rescinded, I would probably stay CC for another year. I already passed 6/1 for SIR all the other schools. I called admission and they asked me if I am a transfer student, I said yes, and she lets me email the advisor on my contract.
It’s hard to say. They may let it slide. It’s not a huge difference. Good luck.
Hopefully I can stay.
I was panicking like you, but I’m at a cal state where my major apparently is just stay above 2.5…
@Alexcider did you email them? I get an email requesting my explanation. And I reply them I have not got all my grades posted yet. They told me not to email them until all the grades posted. I am pretty sure it is below 3.0 for overall spring term. Btw what is your major?
@springtree I came to this forum for my school (san diego state) and I guess it was a common misconception with the acceptance letter. It said to maintain overall GPA. It sounded ridiculous but they meant MAJOR GPA, not what I applied on CSUmentor. My major is environmental engineering.
I am exactly in the same situation I took 23 units like an idiot to complete igetc and ended up getting a C in one class dropping my GPA to 2.97 and the UCSD contract says 3.0 minimum. I contacted the admissions officer and he said that is a problems and it might jeopardize my admission. He said if that happens you can appeal the decision and state why you got a C and what you are doing to make up your GPA. I am currently enrolled in 2 UC transferable courses in the summer just to make sure. I would suggest you do the same to get a 3.0 if they deny u admission. Also try to rush your transcripts over to get a sooner response.
@justintegrate I didn’t sign up for summer. They count GPA per semester, right? How can you make up your situation if you take two classes in summer. I don’t have any IGETC class in summer and I didn’t register for summer.
