UC Berkeley Rescinded

I applied for Haas and find out Thursday.

Will getting one "C" in a class this semester get you rescinded? Or do you just have to maintain a 3.0?

Thanks in advance!

I don’t think one C will get you rescinded. May I ask what your stats are? (just out of curiosity)

you have to maintain a 3.0 avg (while passing all ur classes)

Is maintaining a 3.0 average while passing all your classes a guarantee that they will not rescind your admission? Or is it at their discretion?

its a garuntee GPA wise, if you **** up some other way (i.e. you get arrested or expelled; and yes u can get expelled from a CC ive seen it) than its at their discretion. a C will not hurt you as long ur other grades pull ur average back at or over a 3.0

Yes, a C may have your admittance rescinded. Due to the fact that UC Berkeley Haas is a highly impacted major. The fact of that getting a C can land you in a bad spot, especially if you receive a C in prerequisite course.

dont wrry too much about it now, wait until thursday, if you get in they will provide u with “conditions of your acceptance”

I’m sure it was 3.0, my friend got rescinded with a “C-”. It makes a difference. Try to get that grade up!

Good luck! [:

sakura, your friend got rescinded with a C-, was it a major prereq? or did his/her gpa just dip below 3.0?

^
Major pre-req. Her GPA was much higher than a 3.0.

C- isn’t a C. C- is lower than a C and if it specifically states that the minimum grade to maintain is a C then a C- is definitely lower. And yes it matters

^
Yes it does matter.

So I hope that encourages you guys who are slacking because it will make a difference! [:

I read in an older thread that someone who got into biz econ at UCLA needed to maintain a 3.75 his last semester. Although, I think he was taking like 2 or 3 pre-reqs that spring.

Hopefully your requirements for Haas are much more lenient.

i’m an anthro major and looking at a C for english 5. :frowning: got in a “fight” with the teacher and i’ve missed some stuff.

risk for rescind?

^
Again. It’s a “C” NOT a “C-”. Yes that matters. -.-;;;

P.S.-Sorry. I didn’t look at that part. Don’t worry about it then. Try your hardest! [:

no, as it says, my major is anthropology. so, hopefully not a big deal to cal, but their anthro dept. is pretty popular.

i think.

How do colleges even differentiate C and a C-. I’ve attended two community colleges and my transcripts did not differentiate a grade by + or -.

^
Lucky! Mine do, hahaha. Then you won’t have to worry about it.

most community colleges that i know of do not give + or - however when you transfer to a university they give + and - which affect your gpa; an A would be 12 pts an A- 11.1 something along those lines.

where do you go to cc sakurax?

^
SD. Yeah! I’ve noticed that too and I thought that they didn’t do that until this one time one of my professors gave me an ‘A-’ I was mad. LOL. Probably the only one…
