Hi, I was recently admitted to both schools under the majors listed above. I’m unsure on where to attend, so please help with advice on the atmosphere, academics, and pros and cons of going to these colleges. Here’s some info about me:
I live in the LA area, college first-gen, mixed latina and filipina from public high school, got great financial aid packages & scholarships for both schools so money isn’t an issue, never been to Norcal, and want to major somewhere in the environmental sciences. I’m going to be honest, my stats (GPA and SAT scores) are not good, I know both of these schools will be a great challenge to me academically. It was such a big surprise I even got admitted.
I know both schools are highly and closely rated in academics, and I just want to know more info about how these schools compare in clubs, activities, social atmosphere, the outer area, housing, opportunities, and ESPECIALLY about the envi. sciences.
(I feel I’m leaning more to UCLA bc its closer but still such a diff. envi. from home, and I feel like it would fit me more. Berkeley was completely a surprise, so now I’m trying to learn more about the area and school.)
Especially if you were from similar backgrounds as me, please give me background info and advice to contribute to my college decision.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
