UC Berkeley Spring 2015 Admit Questions

For those of us who have been accepted for the spring semester, do you think we'll be able to graduate by May of 2016? I am hoping I can take classes through my CC this fall that will count towards a semester at Berkeley, so I only end up having to spend 3 semesters there. Is this possible? Does anyone know the minimum amount of upper division units required for graduation? Obviously each major has its own requirements, but I am assuming there is a specific # of upper division units we need, outside of major requirements...

Depends on the college, for L&S it’s 36 UD units in major department and 6 UD units outside of major. Check your college page.

^ oops wrong info. 36 UD units, 6 of which are outside of major

Thanks!

So then theoretically it would be possible to transfer in with 75-80 lower division units from CC and just do 3 semesters at Berkeley (45 units)?

@sccali80‌ I don’t think so. UCs only let students transfer in 70 units from units taken at community college. I’m not exactly sure if that applies to spring admits, but it most likely does.

what if i did 70 units from a CC + used two AP scores to receive another ~10 units. Do you think they would allow this? @oongaboonga

@sccali80 I don’t know, but I could imagine that they won’t allow this, because it’s fair for all entering transfer student to be around the same starting line to graduate, which is the 60-70 units they transfer in. Ask an admission officer to receive a clearer answer.
