Ok I’ve been reading a bunch of old forums about this; however, I am actually confused as to what i was admitted to as the admissions site says congratulations on admission for fall 2015 but then goes on to offer me 3 enrollment plans: FPF, Global Edge, or January start. Also, the FAQs talk a lot about the enrollment plans but at one point says that they no longer do spring admits. When exactly would I start?
You would start in August if you did FPF, the same time as other Cal freshmen. You would start at the Berkeley main campus in spring, as they don’t have enough room.
So
So then why does it say I was admitted to fall when everywhere I’ve read it actually says spring for January admits
Looks like your options are:
- Fall Program for Freshmen: limited course offerings in the fall through Extension: http://fpf.berkeley.edu/fpfcourses.html
- Global Edge: summer at Berkeley (College Writing R4A + elective (many possible)), fall in London (College Writing R4B + Math 1A + 2 electives (3 possible)): http://globaledge.berkeley.edu/courses
- January start: community college or not attend school in fall: http://admissions.berkeley.edu/januarystart
Basically, this is the same as the old spring admissions situation, except that Global Edge has been added as an option.
You take your FPF classes for your first semester at a separate building, not too far away from the main campus. You still live at the residence halls/dorms during your fall semester. You also have the option of studying abroad or attending community college for the fall semester.
Yeah thanks guys I got it I was just confused about the fact that they are no longer calling it spring admissions but rather fall admit with a January start. Kinda threw me off
