UC Berkeley Supplemental Freshman Questionnaire

If it completely answers the question, then yes. Don’t worry about that length. Just say what you need to say. :-)

Does anyone know if UCLA has also started sending out supplements?

I thought I wasn’t going to make even borderline… but I got the special talent supplement a few days ago. I talked to my counselor the other day and she told me that a significant number of people received the questionnaire compared to last year.

My stats were:

GPA (Unweighted): 3.459
UC GPA: 3.75
SAT: 2150
SAT2 Chem; 780
SAT2 Math 2: 740
ACT: 32
8 AP Classes

Was internationally/nationally ranked in my sport. and they asked me to talk about it in my supplement.

does Health class count as a required non-academic courses or courses that doesn’t meet the UC a-g requirements ?

semioticxlove from what I’ve been told, it’s not since everyone has to take the class.

I got this too, but my deadline was 2 days ago… Good luck to everybody!

In case anyone is wondering, I’m still sending out guidelines for the three types of questionnaires. Unfortunately the guidelines for the “borderline” questionnaire is too long to PM. If you want the borderline guidelines (13 questions), PM me your email address. My email will come from freehelp (at) askmssun dot com, so keep an eye out for it (my emails tend to end up in spam/junk folder).

I believe I got the borderline supplement as well? It asks for letters or recommendation? Help?!

I applied to the College of L&S.
4.46 weighted, 3.88 unweighted
2040 SAT (640 CR, 680 math, 720 writing)
31 ACT (31 writing, 36 math, 28 reading, 27 science)
770 Math II subject test

Anyone else receive one’s asking for letters of rec?

I also received the one with the letter of rec along with the borderline supplement (13 questions).

When does Berkeley stop sending out supplement requests? Also, is it better to get one or to not get one? I wish it was March already. I just want to know!

So If Berkeley send my a supplement does that mean I am been consider for admission? I have strong GPA and EC but my SAT is very low…
the questioner seems to be about my school and how many AP classes I took and ask about if I work and why… Do you guys think I have a chance getting in? also anyone have any tips on how to respond to the questions? should I keep it short and straightforward or fancy and detailed?

fancy and detailed - sell yourself, give a better picture of who you are.

It appears you have the ‘borderline’ supplement, which places you on the cusp of admission. They are looking to see whether there are other factors behind the SAT score, but it could also be something about your ECs or something you mentioned in the essay. Amplify anything that could be interesting to Cal.

In addition, you get the chance to have a reference advocate for you and to submit first half senior year grades, suggesting that they are very interested but not yet convinced they should offer you a spot. Take it seriously and your odds are better than even for admission, IMO.

Do all the borderline cases get the supplement questionaire? If you didn’t recieve the questionaire, can you assume you are either admit or reject?

yes, if you are borderline you get the questionnaire, otherwise you are in one of the other piles (admit, reject, talent)

philosofer what were your stats if you dont mind me asking? and what major did you app as?

Well, I applied as a Philosophy Major, Although I now change my mind and want to do a Political economy Major…
