I have a question regarding the Transfer Alliance Program (TAP) at UC Berkeley. In a YouTube video, I saw that the requirements were that you have to be low income, racial minority, and first-generation student. Do you have to meet all these conditions to be eligible or just one? For example, I’m only a first-generation student. Any clarification would be appreciated.
I would check with your CC advisor and setup an interview for the TAP program. In the video you are referencing, it states you must be one of the 3 to eligible: First Generation, URM or Low Income.
I wanted to make sure you know about UCLA’s TAP program. Same acronym, but unrelated. It’s a consortium of CC’s that have an honors program run in coordination with UCLA.
Community college students work closely with faculty and receive on-going academic advising from counselors assigned to their school’s Honors/Scholars Program. Students who have completed the Honors/Scholars Program at their community college receive priority consideration for admission to UCLA College. Admitted TAP students are eligible to apply for scholarships reserved for the Transfer Alliance Program.
Depending on your intended major you may be considered for your alternate if you don’t get accepted into your first choice. This is only offered to TAP participants, regular applicants are not considered for their 2nd choice. If your CC participates it’s a good way to keep your options open for when it comes time to apply to a 4-year
when i first interviewed, they didnt let me join TAP at cal until i got my grades up so i think one of the reqs is also a high gpa
Like nordaz, my gpa mattered. I interviewed in Fall Quarter and wasn’t accepted until my grades were submitted and I had a gpa high enough.
just one!
