Hey guys, I've been reading a bunch of threads and I still don't know what the UC Berkeley TAP program is all about. May somebody explain it to me please?

It’s a program for underrepresented, high achieving, low income students. The program is only available at certain schools. I’m in it and don’t attend one of the schools it’s at and I just have to drive to another college to meet with my rep. It supposedly gives you a 90% shot at getting in. If you’re going to apply to cal this year it’s to late to get into the program but if you’re applying next year you could try and get in.

What does it take to be an “underrepresented” student? What do you have to do to fulfill the TAP requirements? Just meet with your rep?

underrepresent means underrepresented racial group in the UC system. Yeah you just meet with your advisor every couple of months. If youre in the program during summer theyll fly you up there to see the school and stay on campus and stuff.

Is Chinese an underrepresented racial group?

LMAO^^ Hell to the NO

worth a try. Haha, it’s so unfair because Chinese people are considered a minority group in the United States.

They’re a minority group in the United States but they’re overrepresented at UC’s.

minorities in universities tend to be hispanics, blacks, native americans, and other smaller underrepresented minorities. Sorry that you’re SOL :p

Yeah TAP is for people under-represented in the UC system. Sorry
