@nerissa924 omg same here lol I am gonna get really wasted first then check it lol oh and I was reading some old ucb decision thread and found one person that got in as MCB major with a 3.6 GPA

@chanceme1991 I’m a soc major too :D

@nerissa924 thank you that was really helpful! I actually feel a lot better knowing my major isnt impacted

I saw a few of my friends facebook status’ saying they’ve been accepted into CAL. Has anyone been accepted, if so, what major?

Im pretty hopeful then :slight_smile:
Care to chance me anyone??
I’ll def. chance u back.

I also read from another forum that someone called the admissions office at CAL and confirmed that the average transfer gpa is 3.6.

Its a lot lower than last years which is cool :D

Do you guys happen to know if TAP really helps?
Im at UCB tap and a lot of people say it helps, but i haven’t seen it for myself yet.

@missthing dont mention it :slight_smile:
I was really scared to see if my intended major was impacted, apparently not :)))
GGGGGGGGGG

Ditto - also curious to know if TAP really helps! They advertise really high admissions rates, but I don’t know how to predict what effect that will have on my application. So nervous!

@nerissa24

Can you post a link to that forum?? That makes me sooo much less nervous if that’s true!

I’m in TAP. And yes, they do help, a LOT! My counselor helped me with my entire UC Application and the Haas Supplemental. I also know that if you are rejected they help you with the appeal and your chances are way higher than if you appealed with no TAP. Unless you apply to Haas, your chances are really good for Berkeley if you have TAP, which sucks for me because I applied to Haas. But still, TAP’s help was great!

@ eacole: I would if I remember it. There wasnt necessarily a thread for it, it was some random comment on a thread.

@jcarlo: cool! They helped me a lot. I ended up getting an internship at cal too from them ! From what I heard, being in tap doesnt give us only in resources. Our application gets this “code” in which gives us some special consideration. You shouldnt quote me on this because this is what i heard from my friend who went to orientation but thats why they take our names and applicant id number because they send it to admissions.

@nerissa924 Now that you mention it, I do remember something like that. That’s the part that doesn’t apply to Haas :frowning: but it does for all other schools at Cal, which is pretty awesome.

@jcarlo: Wait really it doesnt? Why is that? Im pretty sure it helps u out on some degree. What makes you say that?

@nerissa924 Honestly, I can’t remember exactly. I know I heard/read that many times a long time ago. Maybe it was wrong (I hope) but it was so long ago that, at some point, I just accepted it as a fact lol.

Still, it wouldn’t be crazy to think that Haas doesn’t pay much attention to the TAP “code.” I mean, only 90 transfer students or so are offered admission, 15 to 20 of whom are international (so no TAP). That leaves us with around 75 transfer students admitted, many of whom don’t have TAP.

That is true. I just think that TAP is more than just a resource though. There is a reason why they get our names and application id number.
The success rate for tap applicants are really successful. Also , tap is always a plus!
If u dont mind, care to share your stats?
