Pre-reqs: Complete
IGETC: Complete
EC’s: Summer in Cancer Research lab, college athlete, minimal volunteering

Applied:UCLA, UCI, UCSD, Cal
Accepted: ALL!
Rejected: NONE!
PS’s: Most Likely Very good. I’m not trying to come off as bragging at all. Considering my lowish gpa, these are probably the one thing that really got me in as every other part of my app was definitely not as stellar as everyone else here on CC.
Reflections: Very proud to say that I’ve been accepted, but I think my heart is in UCLA. Also I received the financial aid document request email a couple days before acceptance so I’m guessing that It is one of those “good signs” lol. I hope people from future app cycles see this and find hope if they don’t have 3.9+ GPA’s, but have motivation and passion for their future careers and demonstrate it well through their words and actions outside of the classroom!

 1. I think my major essay was good and funny. I incorporated 2Chainz’s lyrics, “They ask me what I do and who I do it for.” So, I talked about what I do (my jobs) and who I do it for (my students).
 2. I began with one of my favorite chess openings and discussed how it focuses on a lot of squares at once. I made a parallel between that opening and how I have a lot of jobs. And I talked about my non profit since that’s the reason I work a few jobs.

Why you think you were accepted/rejected: cornell is a ****** LOL.

Looks like you’re going for free zomgrad! :P

Congratulations to everyone who has received admission at UCB!
I decided to check their decision before LA’s! I was on my way to work and I could not believe what I read! I got accepted! I honestly was not expecting to get into such a prestigious school! I applied when I was in high school and got denied.
LA’s decision was not as pleasant, I got denied. LA was my dream school, but Berkeley is a great school too!

Chem Major, 3.58 GPA, missing Ochem series and Physics series. Involved in tutoring and helped co-found a collegiate dance team.

I am leaning towards going to Berkeley rather than to Irvine (I only applied to these three schools). But I do plan to appeal LA and if that is successful, I will have to decided between CAL or LA!

This is what my portal read:

Decision: ACCEPTED for Fall 2013
UC GPA: 3.8
Major Pre-reqs Completed: All done, A’s in all of them
Intended Major: Poli sci, considering doubling in history… haven’t decided yet
TAP?: I still don’t know what tap is
IGETC?: YES

Which other schools did you apply to?
Applied: UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCD
Accepted: UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCD
Rejected: none
Waitlisted: none
Pending: Dartmouth, Harvard, Georgetown, GW
SIR: I probably will to Cal tomorrow/ today

Subjective:
Extracurriculars: Tons of political stuff, started political organization, managed campaigns, internships, etc
Job/Work Experience: Managed 3 campaigns, worked at sports camp
Volunteer/Community service: Involved in 19 campaigns
Personal Statement: I wrote about politics… any other devout libertarians/ an caps out there who got in?
Applied for Financial Aid?: yes, but I promise I won’t get a penny.
State (if domestic applicant): CA
School Type: CCC
Ethnicity: White
Gender: Male
Income Bracket: Obama and the fellow communists are bankrupting my family by stealing a substantial portion of our income
Hooks (URM, first generation college, research, etc.): I’m super crazy about politics. For those who end up there, I’ll be that crazy guy protesting at school with Young Americans for Liberty telling you that the (neo-con) Republicans and (communist) Democrats suck and that libertarian republicans are the way to go… This is essentially what I wrote about in my essay
Attending Transfer Admit Day? (if admitted): Hell yeah see you all there

Reflection
Strengths: GPA kinda and EC’s. I wrote in my essays how I want to be in congress one day and tied my ecs into my career goals and how I need to learn as much as I can from a top school so people will vote for me.
Weaknesses: I forgot to mention honors, deans list and ptk.
Why you think you were accepted: I finished my pre recs, my ecs, and I wrote my personal essay about who I am… I really reflected who I am as a person and how passionate I am about being a Ron Paul supporting libertarian!
General Comments: I almost cried
